Farming purple Crystalline Swords - possible with each profession

So what are the purps that are noted as rare skins from these chest?
So far I found a dead bow, crystalline, krytan axe, magmas arm, serpent axe, dwarven axe and sephis axe.
Took a while to get all these, like over 60 runs. Overall I give this "farming" a rating of not worth it. Its so slow and inconsistent. You can make more doing CR or farming elsewhere. Good for new players that just got NF and Proph to make starting cash.

1, 2, 5 purples respectively from chests. Rarest thing was a 13^50 Krytan Axe. Might be nice on a hero, I suppose, but I've got enough goodies for them.

I found that (I know I'm slow) that if you farm that place you won't able to get as much drop as before.
Before I used to get 4-5 drops per Chest now 1-2 "sigh"

good if you need major vigor runes for hero's or yourself...but takes way too long to get crystalline sword that you could just farm for gold and buy much quicker...the tactic will however work for boss green drops so even better to use it for that and sell the greens to buy the crystalline with

in 10 runs nothing special for me so far, some runes, couple wands, hand axe,...
I also noticed that in the area where the last chest spawns there is a Miner's chest. I dont know if it always spawns but in 10 runs i got it 5 or 6 times.

Made 3 runs so far.
2 major vigors and a dwarven axe 14^50 req 9, However, it was 6-27 dmg...I wanted to uninstall GW =)

The point is that Sorrows Furnace has been out for well over a year, hero flagging has been in the game for nearly six months. If Anet were going to nerf it they'd probably have done so by now. It's not as if 2 - 3k in 30 minutes is all that much more than you could make by spending that 30 minutes doing one of the advanced missions.

There is such a low chance of getting any of the "rare skinned weapons" that this run isn't worth it in the sense of time. If you need money, it's better to farm an area then it is to do this run.

its ok to do this, if you are anything like me (ie, never had one of the really rare weapons dropped, yet dont want to buy one either, as I prefer getting my own items).
sofar Ive had 1 crystalline, 2 dwarven, 2 serpent, some sephis, and a shitload of runes (about 5-6 major vigor, its still some cash). I also like it coz its really relaxing. and there are only that many areas that are still interesting to visit
What I really wonder tho is whether Tribal axes and/or Sickles (tyrian ofc) can drop there. a max dmg from either type would be a really nice find, as there have never been max dmg finds of those afaik

I think everyone should let this farming-spurt die down some. There are to many Cryst's and Dwarven's and others coming into the market and these prices are dropping rapidly because of this.
If you expect to get any money out of these for much longer, you guys need to let this die down and break from it. This isn't the "One Sword Solves All" solution.

Yeah, I never understood why people post all their farming spots here, we all appreciate it but it just ends up nerfing the spot because of too many people farming it, or A-NET nerfs it on their own because they know a lot of ppl know about a good farming spot..
The reason some of you haven't gotten a "decent drop" from the chests is probably because everyone is doing it now, lol.
I'm not even gonna bother trying, I haven't completed 1 of the SF quests yet, I just use SF for green farming

You can do the quest an infinite number of times, it's repeatable.

major vigor runes drop often on the run so even if 1/20 a poor stat purple crystalline drops atleast your heros get a rune.

just use the henches available, also, if you do get a crystalline/dwarven/serpent dont ID it, sell it unid prolly gonna get more money

pretty good idea went and got about 5 major vigors and 1 horrible modded serpent axe in bout 7 runs and btw i think purples can drop 15^50 i got one from a chest in SF, but it was like 11-19 dmg

No, they don't. Most likely you got 15 below 50. If you really got 15^50, please provide evidence. Thanks.

As far as I remember he will leave your party as soon as you return to Grenths Footprint, so you'll have to pick him up every time again.
