I have a Gothic Defender from Factions with a -5 rcvd Damage (20%) mod on it, and was wondering if I could put a +30hp or +45HP(stance) mod on it. Is this available to all campaigns, or strictly Nightfall? Thanks.

if its from factions, u can not mod it

No, Factions Items cannot have Nightfall upgrades applied. If the shield dropped in Cantha, it cannot be changed.
