A question about Green items

Look, first off: i am not having a moan... just want to compare notes.

in the last 4-5 days, i've collected 25 elites skills, in some areas where i know its easy, i solo run, and in some areas i take a large group of hero's and henchies.

however, not once have i picked up a green item. just wanted to know if anyone else has the same problem.

infact, to be honest, i've only picked up one green item in across prophecies and nightfall. whats going on?

You are most likely doing this with henches/heroes - keep in mind that they get assigned drops too. So this means that with 7 heroes+henches you have a 1/8 chance of getting the item if it drops, and of course the chance of it dropping in the first place is relatively low.

you start with a 1/8 chance if you have full party. lets just say you have a 1/10 chance in the green dropping (dont know what the actual number is, could be even less). so we see:

1/8 or 0.125 * 1/10 or 0.1 = 0.0125 or 1/80 chance! so, your chances of actually getting the green in a full team is rather small.

So he's not always using a full team....

For me, I've been getting quite a few greens, say about 10 in whole Elona. This is with a full team of heroes/hench. Most of them where crap however, none of them falling after Vabbi. I gave them to new Guildies/heroes, but I didn't have to farm for any of them.

Guess it's just bad luck for you...

It seems to go in streaks for me. I will go long periods without getting any green drops and then, out of the blue, there will be a drop or two. It seems that some days you are the windshield, some days you are the bug.

Ever seen one boss drop 2 greens?? Happened to us last night, one for me and one for guildie, then we went straight to town and straight back out just to see if was glitch and could keep doing it and I got another one. I got screenies on my computer at home but don't know how to post them here, it was Kepkhet's Refuge, so is a common green but thought it was strange to kill a boss 2 times and get 3 greens out of it. I've gotten 5 green drops in 11 months, all in Factions. The middle three dropped one-a-day for three days, the last one on a green drop weekend. Nothing at all so far in Nightfall.

It's like black dye, just luck.

I got a fair few greens with full hench teams in Elona when Nightfall came out also. I intend to take my ele round factions to collect all 92 remaining elites I don't have this weekend though...I'm willing to bet I'll get no green drops from any of those 92!!

each henchie u have halves the drop rate. Try killing all the guys around the boss and then hurting the boss then sending all ur heros away until their names are grey, then kill him. It works.

I got my first one a week ago in Elona. I had a full hero/hench party. Wasn't even trying for it. I was just trying to get to one of the new buired treasure spots :-)

Not every boss has a green

even running solo, luck plays a huge role in green drops. example: i use to use a touch ranger to solo farm ghail (back when his staff still sold for something). i kept track and i did 47 runs over the coarse of almost 3 weeks. he never dropped it! i gave up and just bought the damn thing. then, about a week later, i taught a guildie how to run it and the strategy to kill him. it dropped for him on his first run!

and thats why im not allowed to go to vegas...

I have to laugh, another 5 elite skills captured, and yet no prize.

I tried a run in Sunward Marches for "Reapers Sweep", no luck... took dunkoro only.

I know they are super duper rare, but there must be something wrong here.

Having played Prophecies and Nightfall, and only getting one green drop, i would have to agree with celestial beaver.

I still wonder about Factions vs. Nightfall regarding greens...I've gotten lots of greens (mostly "newbie" greens ) compared with Factions...where I've only gotten 1 green.

It must have been quite the streak of luck though...in that single Factions mission, I got Ryver's bow, black dye and a sapphire I nearly peed myself.

I've run two characters completely thru prophecies and am working on Nightfall. I've seen exactly one green, which is a hammer sitting in storage. However, I never solo so that's certainly a factor.

I tried farming Ssaki's Sword and Geoffer's Bulwark a few weeks ago. I went out 4 henchies (sorry, I'm not good enough to solo yet) and killed both of them about 10-15 times. No luck. No greens.

I finally gave up and went back into the town. Grabbed a full team of Henchies and went back out to work on the Charting the Jade Sea quest some. I killed Geoffer and got his Bulwark immediately. I think the powers that be just felt sorry for me.

No, the drop rate is just divided evenly between you and everyone else in your party, including henchmen and heroes. 3 party members = 1/3 chance, 8 party members = 1/8 chance.

In Prophecies, only bosses and monsters in certain optional areas drop greens.

I found the easiest place to get greens was in Cantha. They seem to drop pretty easily if you try to farm them and I also got several just playing the game. Nightfall I have only 1 and I have tried to farm for them too. The one I got I wasn't even trying for.

I mastered the good old reliable Scar Eater faming months and months ago...whenever I need quick cash I pay a visit to the Bank of Scar Eater and make a "withdrawal". Once I needed some quick cash...went to my favourite bank manager...nothing...10 runs...nothing....20 runs....nothing...30 runs....nothing. I gave up. Went after him the next day...it took a further 45 runs to get him to drop his green...then he dropped it twice in a row. 75 runs with no drops is just harsh.

As I'm going for all Canthan elites this weekend...I need the Scar Eater's. Then I'll be going onto Jayne Forestlight. I will laugh SO HARD if he drops his green with a full team of henchies after I've been farming him so long!!
