Well, I was lucky enough to get all of 2 wintergreens from my predictions. Now, these are potentially actually very good PvP weapons, for the sole reason that they have a constant, 0 req, damage. This means that they will do the same damage on any profession you put them on, similar to the standard candy cane weapons.
Where they differ though, is that they are fully modable, and inscribable. So far, there seems to be a trend in spears, I'd imagine for casters. In Kamadan, I'm seeing a ton of people buying up +5 energy inscriptions and +20% Enchant and +30HP mods for spears. Not surprising really, because you basically have a caster sword, with the range of a wand, and a constand 10 damage. I've already picked up one for my monk.
However, I'm still in two minds as to what to spend my second choice on. Shield is tempting, however, their 8 armour is no better than a standard 16 armour shield, being wielded without meeting the req, so that's kind of pointless. I can't really think of a competitive use for the melee weapons, since with spears offering the same mods and inscriptions, along with a range and reasonable damage, there is little point in a caster using them. Bows I suppose could be useful for warriors luring...
So, I'd like to hear what other people are choosing and why ^_^

hmm, well after a quick test of my new spear, saddly it doesnt live up to it's stats. Even on a 60 armour target, I'm only doing 4 damage
This of course increases with attributes in Spear Mastery, however, obviously the damage calculations work differently than I assumed. I was under the mistaken impression that if it said 10-10 damage, with no requirement specified, it would do 10 damage. Ah well, in that case, I think I'll just go with whatever looks best ^^. Another caster weapon probably, most likely a sword or axe

Is it possible to add an Aptitude not Attitude Inscription to the caster weapons? If there is no attribute, then there's no skill recharge is there? I already picked the shield, because I think I can use it the most (Both as Funweapon and for PvP).
Can't pick a second one though x/.... had no Luck...

Thanks for the info savio, I never knew that! I grabbed a spear too though, as the +5 unconditional energy of a spear outweighs the +~5 damage gained from a wand. And with no formalized data, simply from playing a ton of caster using both candy cane and pvp creation spears, I've found that generally (an average of all targets, obviously it varies), the regular spears tend to do 1 or 2 damage while the candy cane spears do more like 2 to 4. Of course, without testing in tob I can't really say for sure... Anyway, I still have a wintergreen selection remaining, unsure of what to get...

I find that the wintergreen weapon sucks. After making us wait for like 1 mth+ for it, the weapon should have been at least max dmg with req 9 or something.
Let's look at the dmg behind it...
Axe
Normal: 6 - 28
winter: 10 - 10
Bow
Normal: 15 - 28
winter: 15 - 15
Dagger
Normal: 7 - 17
winter: 5 - 5
Hammer
Normal: 19 - 35
winter: 15 - 15
Wand
Normal: 11 - 22
winter:10 - 10
Scythe
Normal: 9 - 41
winter: 10 - 10
Shield
Normal: 16
winter: 8
Spear
Normal: 14 - 27
winter: 10 - 10
I find that the item is simply not worth equip in battles, especially in end games battle, maybe except caster wands.
The fact is that it's lame. For those people who argue that no req. is needed, I would like to mention that your dmg will sucks without your weapon mastery.
Most probably I will be exchanging for a staff or wand...
Edit: I got a spear instead.
Edit 2: Staff doesn't have 20% HSR, avoid at all cost

I got a spear and a shield. Spear for the reasons mentioned 10 times already and shield because it looks cool and actually noticeable at a first glance, whereas you have to pay attention or see a character up close to notice other weapons.
Although I'm not planning to drop any cash on upgrading these... for now I'm perfectly fine with spirit of the forgotten + different offhands.

I don't understand why anyone would expect these weapons to be max damage and on par with normal weapons. When I first saw them, the first thought that came to my mind was they were the same as the candy cane / peppermint weapons except green. Finding out they were inscribable was a nice bonus.
That being said I got a spear since my pve paragon build has 0 in spear mastery and deals 0-1 damage to mobs in Torment anyways.
