Monk energy management idea... Dumb or usefull?
atreyu83
lookin through the never used elites i came across "Scribes insight" (enchant gain 3 energy when you use a signet) i thought hmm how can i abuse this. I figued that the fastest activating and recharging signet was signet of malice (assasin - 1/4ct 5s rct) then with deadly paradox it recharges in 2or3 forget how GW rounds. Ends up around 3pips of course this is dependent on alot of things. Havin the enchant up havin a foe to use sig malice on in range and stuff. Can anyone think of any use for this?

I"d personally say, there are much better ways to use your Elite Slot.
Pick Me
The only thing I can think of right now is:
Signet of Devotion
Scribe's Insight (e)
Signet of Rejuvination
Heal Party
Mend Ailment
Holy Veil
Mantra of Inscription
Rebirth
I suppose you can change Mend Ailment and Holy Veil with Purge Signet and some other healing skill.

Pick Me, you don't have much of a heal in that build. The biggest heal you have is ~100 health from Signet of Devotion, requiring 2 seconds to cast, so I'm not sure that will work too well.
Perhaps bring Heal Other instead of Mantra of Inscriptions or Mend Ailment?

Even if you get a foe to use signet of malice on, it's fairly annoying. Not just that...you also have much better Elites to use.

One of the first monk builds i toyed around with when NF came out was some sort of Scribes' Booner.
it went something like...
Mo/P
RoF
SoA
PS
SoD
Holy Veil
Remedy Sig (paragon no-attrib sig)
Scribes' Insight [E]
Divine Boon
...except i had dismiss condition in there for either SoD or SoA i think...
didn't work that well, but still worth posting i suppose.

Ok build I guess...it's like a test to see how fast you can spam Remedy Signet to make up for energy loss from Divine Boon though...

I actually tried to make a build with that too... Pretty 1337 on a bonder Since u not really need Blessed anymore u can like maintain bonds and spam around healing instead of waisting time on Blessed Signet and get a high chance of being interrupted... now you need to find the right skills
Monk/Paragon
1. Life Bond
2. Balthazar's Spirit
3. Signet of Devotion
4. Signet of Rejuvenation
5. Gift of Health
6. Reversal of Fortune
7. Remedy Signet
8. Scribe's Insight
something like this should work, a spamming singet would work, 2 bad protection prayers don't got any signets and GoH disables Rejuvenation

Trylo
why not just use boon signet instead of scribes for a bonder...

Best solution (I think) for energy management is taking mesmer as secondary and using its energy regen skills. Revealed Hex, for instance, lets you remove a hex from an ally plus get an energy boost.
(note: Revealed Hex and Inspired Hex are basically the same skill, use either)

Epic Monkey Battle
I dont think there are really many good e-management skills that are available for monks. The best e-management at the moment I think is GoLE mixed with smart healing. But if you were wanting to try scribes insight, maybe use it with something like Ether Sig and/or leech sig for extra energy gained, but there are still better options IMO.
