Stationary names when using Ctrl

Just in line with the "READ FIRST - Suggestion Forum Guidelines" thread, I've decided to post my related idea here.

In very populated cities I have a lot of problems clicking on the NPC I want, especially when I use the Target: Show Others key. This is because as I hold the button down, the names of other players running around town tends to bump and shove the NPCs name around.

I would like to ask that they make NPC names, sign posts, items and yellow-fonted objects stationary on the screen. That way, PC names will move around the NPC names and I have no trouble getting to the person I want, and I'm not accidentally clicking on a few PC names before I get there.

Thanks!

Those rules don't mean you bump a 6-month-old thread that's not closely related and not in the Sardelac Sanitarium forum.

In busy districts the moving names are sometimes enough to make me grind my teeth. I hope they do change that.

A simple fix would be the while your holding down ALT your mouse will not highlight anything other than the npc's.

The reverse for holding down CTRL and players.

And while holding either ALT or CTRL in a town your char will not move when you click(same effect as when you hold shift down currently)

Getting around to the merchants was hell during the event, and it's not hard just during the event. Any ideas that anyone has would be awesome.

The stationary sounds good, but it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. You would hold down the button and it would highlight the names, butthe person would like go off and the other end of the outpost/screen/whatever. Maybe if there was an indicator that showed where the target was?

Definitely /signed. Anet is generally good at improving the game playabilty and making it easier, I'm surprised they haven't made something like this earlier

Isn't this already the case? I always use ALT for locating NPCs

If this happens, do it for monsters too. I hate trying to click on a heket's name tag just to have it hop away at the last moment.

Kiyoshi has it right...
NPC's are highlighted with Alt in towns whereas other players are highlighted with Ctrl.
If it's till too much trouble just move closer a bit.

Sorry Savio, just new to all this and wasn't expecting much ascent. Thanks to whoever moved it to it's own thread.

Ta!
