nVIDIA problem , help plz

Find 10 Differences
I have had these graphic problems all the time I've been playing GuildWars.
My computer:

Chill Innovation 510W supply
ASUS P4P800-E DeLuxe
Pentium 4 3.0GHz HT (Prescott)
2x 512MB DDR Kingston
MSI GeForce FX 5900XT 128MB (AGP) then MSI NX 7600GS 512MB
tried about 6 versions of forceware, none was able to solve my problem (also used Driver celaner pro, to make 1only 1 driver active at a time)

I have read the official site FAQ (to switch to High quality mode) - no effect
I have no problem in any other game, but GW seems like impossible to me to fix it.
It is even more funny that today I have bought a new VGA card - NX6700GS 512MB(which is not mentioned in that FAQ to make any problem) - the game still looks the same, anyone can help me plz ?

Uhm. Mind pointing out the problems for me? Unless you mean how your UI buttons are kinda moved all over?

Looks like a driver bug. Which version you running?

I've been using v91.47 for a long time now, and on different systems, and it has been working fine on my cards.

the problem is that I see some 'special effects'...the game runs fast, everything is well, but for short periods of time there are some textures or whatever that make it look awful (like 1 of my screenshots)...they disappear in a second but then another one appears and so on

got 93.71 forceware (downloaded today- for the new graphic)
and I havent mentioned that the screen is Samsung Syncmaster 710t

Looks like you are getting some artifacts. I'd get the newest drivers and if you have installed other driver versions in the past use a program called "driver cleaner". It will get rid of the files left over after uninstalling.

I have cleaned drivers with the Driver Cleaner Pro. The installed those 91.47 drivers...

Looks like artifacting of some sort. The only type not mentioned here was that it could be from overheating/overclocking. Unstable memory/core doesn't always manifest itself as colored blocks or white dots. Sometimes, ti can misdraw the polygons too. That looks remarkedly similar to what I was seeing when my Geforce2 was overclocked too far years ago.

Also, a failing card can look like that too.

One other thing that can cause these artifacts is not enough power to the video card. Although you state that you have a 510 watt power supply it may have enough juice to power the whole computer. I will not say the one you have is crap, but instead will suggest you get an Enermax unit as I have had no problems with them at all. They are known to be stale as heck and can handle almost anything y throw at them. There are several other companies that make exceptional PSU's but I know from experience what the Enermax units can do. Whatever you decide to do, don't get a power supply that has less wattage than what you have now.

The problem with low performance from VGA card- I thought it might be because my 5900XT (though it was still going very well in other games) was a bit old (and also was mentioned in the official FAQ to make some problems)...thats why I have just bought a new one, dont tell me that 7600GS 512MB is simply not enough...
I havent done any overclocking to the CPU, VGA or whatever else, got quite good cooling system in the computer to keep my temperatures ok.
the Chill innovation is in my opinion a pretty good one and its 510 W !! that should be enough for any 2years-old computer and 7600GS is no high end card at all.
Yes, i have the 4-pin molex pluged in the card , that is definitely not a problem

I wasn't putting down your power supply, but if it is 2 years old like you say, it may not have enough wattage on the 12 volt rails to power the video card properly. If you have a friend with a new power supply see if he will allow you to borrow it and see if it works better. Even electrical components can degrade over time and I replace my power supply every 2 years as new technology dictates. It just may be that your current power supply is not performing as it should or like it was when new. I had bad luck with an older power supply trying to run a newer video card with it (destroyed a $600 card) not supplying enough power to it. I had similiar artifacts just before my card went out and never relized that the problem was the power supply until I sent the card back to the manufacturer and they told me it was because there wasn't enough power going to it. Check out how much power the 12 volt rails are outputting on your current power supply and see if it is more than what the video card requires. If not then you will need to get a new one that meets the requirements.

the computer is 2 years old, the supply about a year. the funny part is that it makes this in no other game...Oblivion, Need for speed , whatever goes well.
It was a kinda highend piece and took me about 150 USD , it one of parts I definitely dont plan to upgrade at the moment...

as long as the drivers seem irrelevant and new VGA has still same problem, I thought if it isnt because of AGP slot for example but dont know any serious problems it may cause

It looks like you've had two overclocked video cards. Which is a bit unlikely... Do you have the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard too?

Looks like either your card is overheating or the memory on the card is going. I had exactly the same artifacts right after my 6600GT's fan stopped working.

Hmmm, methinks your video card may be going out.

My nVidia card started having increasingly bad artifact issues: smears, geometric patterns etc. The problem manifested when running demanding video programs: screen savers, WoW, Guild Wars, etc.


Driver changes, windows reinstalls, bios tweaks...no good...the card was dying. Probably due to heat or a power spike damage to a component on my card. (it was 2 years old)

I replaced the video card and the problem went away.

EDIT: I reread the OP...I see you replaced your video card...well look to your Motherboard power distribution (ie Mobo going out) or the the Power supply as the source of your problem.

Highly unlikely that a new video card...is also going bad.

The NX7600GS is not overclocked. I have the latest chipset drivers.
The fan cannot be non-working because it has none, it has only passive cooling but overheating should not be a problem as I have some fans around to take the heat out.

ANY OTHER IDEA HOW TO FIX IT ?
