This stemmed from a discussion me and one of my officers had about future chapters.
After Prophecies, there are no longer any quests that give you skills beyond the newbie areas.
The only way to get skills after leaving those areas is of course through money.
Now.....
Throughout Cantha and Elona, you get rewards that you can redeem to quartermaster....
You know....Commendations, totems, etc.
And it would seem logical to me, that if you can redeem those for weapons, scrolls, items, materials, etc. It should only make sense you can redeem them for skills as well.
I propose, a new way to gain skills via exchanging items we gain as a quest reward.
Either a whole new item (skill token) or using the existing rewards (imperial commendations, etc.)

Idea: Allow quest rewards to be redeemed for skills

IMHO, skills should be gained as quest rewards through faction points (non-Balthazar faction, like Luxon, Kurzick or any other new faction in the 4th or later campaigns), then gaining skills would be a lot funner, because people will have a bigger variety of methods to do so (of course that normal skill trainer would still be available).
Although it's pretty nice to gain skills this way (and have almost any non-elite skill before you get to a certain point in the story), I think that skill quests (such as in Prophecies) are the best method of gaining skills, because you are restricted to certain builds up to a specific point in the story, which then allows you to gain any non-elite skill by buying with money, or with faction points.
Anyhow, I'd like to see another way of getting skills, other than buying through trainers, or hero trainers (which just unlocks them), in the 4th campaign.

Instead of gaining a skill as reward in Canthat after noob isle you get +-700g and a skill point, so you can choose your own skills.
No need for something like this.

I like the idea of usiing some sort of skill token to be used to acquire skills.
We were told that by buying the skills, more unique builds would spawn from being forced to pick and choose your skills, especially if you don't have enough money. I don't know if that really worked out. Having another venue, aside from paying 1k per skill, would be welcomed.

/signed at letting us use quest items like trade commendations to exchange for skills.
/MORE SIGNED at just bringing back skills as rewards for quests. Having to buy them all was bad enough im factions. To carry it on into NF was just stupid.
