hello, first time poster here.

since picking up nightfall ive been immediately hooked on the dervish, due to its vast array of useful skills and the sheer amount of builds possible on the character, with everything having its own merits and uses.

after getting used to them a bit, i entered the pvp circuit with a dust aura build with the following skills:

Mystic Sweep
Victorious Sweep
Crippling Sweep
Dismiss Condition
Heart of Fury
Mystic Regeneration
Ebon Dust Aura
Rez signet

the idea was simple, shut down melee, cripple kiters and runners, keep myself alive and un-blinded, all while doing decent damage.

and for the most part, it works. for awhile i was kicking everyone around with impunity, but eventually i came to the realization that theres vastly more use for an anti-caster then an anti-meleer. everyone has some form of anti-melee, but not everyone has anti-casting.

most notably, blinding surge. you cant go 2 matches without running into a blinder. even with dismiss condition they spam that thing all day long, making you waste all your time and energy throwing up the condition removal over and over. and when all is said and done, your effectively useless.

match upon match i was running into all sorts of problems with casters, and very little with melee, with the exception of spike assassin builds.

so i came up with a new idea, trying to think of a way to shut down casters, while also having the ability to do some spike damage, and have enough staying power to keep up with meleers.

the idea:

12 + 1 + 3 scythe mastery
10 + 2 mysticism
8 + 1 wind prayers

Mystic Sweep
Crippling Sweep
Victorious Sweep
Dwayna's Touch
Extend Enchantments
Vow of Silence
Featherfoot Grace
Rez

usage:
throw up extend enchantments, featherfoot grace and vow of silence. you can keep them all up indefinatly for 20 seconds with a 20% longer lasting enchants scythe.

your going to be moving quick, so chase down those casters and drop the cripple on them, followed by mystic sweep and for a nice chunk of hp gain, the victorious sweep.

in melee, your going to be in tough shape till vow of silence drops, as you will be unable to use dwaynas touch. so use your speed to your advantage, drop the cripple, run off and let vow run off. then you can start using dwaynas touch to keep yourself up.

counters are obvious, a strong melee attack will be tough to withstand. your not going to be very good at dropping monks or heavily armored opponents, but soon as vow drops you can keep yourself up with dwaynas pretty well.

well, thats my idea. looking for some feedback and suggestions to make a nice build, thanks alot!

Use mending touch, not dismiss conditions.

If blinders piss you off so much go Melandru Avatar

Away from you.

i have to agree with souls. Melandru is a godsend when it comes to conditions, with so many degen conditions out there, especially useful in AB. I was angry at first with the 25e cost, but it's worth it in the long run.

There's always Signet of Malice / Signet of Recovery, both of which can be used with Vow of Silence up.

Flail is usually better than Heart of Fury, specially beacose of 5 sec duration, and you can always take harriers haste to cancel it, if the foe starts running away
