Gladiator's Arena

I've been playing since the day Guild Wars came out and I've always wanted an arena where two random players are pitted against each other and mass amounts of players watched. But the crowd (players that watch the fight) could make bets before the round started on who they think would win. The crowd would be able to view the players before they entered battle, but not their skills, and place a bet. The players that choes the winner would get a portion of the cash. This would be a great money sink for anet and I know I would enjoy it as well. Let me know what ya think!

There are certain mesmer builds and certain sin builds that are pretty much auto-win in 1v1.
Guild Wars is not balanced around 1v1. It's balanced around 8v8

I agree that their are definate instant win builds, but what if you would go by class instead of randomly. Pit class against class. In fact, make it best of 3, you go in..fight...get a chance to change your skills...fight again, This makes the person have to be very diverse in his use of skills

We have been doing this within our guild for a time now and find much enjoyment in it.

(oh and the betting on the fight for a little side scratch aint half bad either)

Then make it 2v2, and btw there isn't a build that wins auto alwash a counter

I could come up with a few builds that can stop the so called "auto win builds," be creative, and i like the 2v2 idea.

I would love to see a 2v2 arena...I think that would be a whole lot of fun

2v2 is better than 1v1 because monks and mesmers would run wild.

People would just run insane solo builds...no fun in it tbh.

Make it free for alls. The ability to do teams of say 12. 3v3v3v3. Or all 12 people versus each other. Use all chat to have everyone deciding to attack the runner builds/ invinci builds etc.

Just ideas to think of.

There is a way to do that after these updates
if you are in a guild with a big alliance you can get a scrimmage between only 2 people.They would go to where it was just them and wait to start.All the guild member would hit " B " then look at a word which would say(guild name here) vs(guild name here) before the battle starts the observers would bet on the person they think will win.The 2 fighters can wager also.One person counts the votes then the battle begins. At the end when 1 person dies the match is over. Everyone goes back to the guild hall and gains their winnings.I will give a better explanation later.
