The Guide:
This will teach you how to deal with certain areas of the Underworld.
The Labrinth:
You will find 3 different monsters, Bladed Aatxes, Grasping Darkness' and Dying Nightmares.
Bladed Aatxes:
How to kill them:
1. Switch to bow before aggroing, just incase theres a nightmare (refer to the Dying Nightmare guide)
2. Aggro only 3-6 at a time (make your aggro with all enchants except guardian on, casting Famine before you enter aggro range, then recast Protective Spirit and Healing Breeze)
3. If a Dying Nightmare spawns then use my guide on Dying Nightmares (just after this)
4. recast Protective Spirit and Healing Breeze, then the mesmer casts Ancestors Visage or Sympathetic Visage (NOT both) on you.
5. the mesmer should time roughly 10 seconds to recast Healing Breeze on you.
6. you should time roughly 18 seconds to recast Protective Spirit with.
7. Shout out "Over" in team chat so the mesmer knows to cast the other type of Visage
8. keep going through steps 3-6 until the Aatxes are dead. (recast Famine if needed, WITH guardian on you though)
9. You have owned 1 group! congratz, only the ranger should pick up their items at this time, then move on to another group using the same tactic.
10. repeat steps 1-7 until all aatxes are dead, then the mesmer can take their items, and you can move on more, if a dying nightmare spawns not near monsters then its a waste of enchants, let it rend u and kill itself
Dying Nightmares:
How to deal with them:
1. Make sure you have protective spirit and healing breeze on.
2. Switch to bow.
3. Use Savage Shot
4. Wait until they die, change back to your weapon set 1 and get back to killing the Aatxes.
5. If there arent any monsters around, refer to the Bladed Aatxe step 10 (at the end) to see what to do.
Grasping Darkness':
How to beat them:
1. Make sure you have defeated all aatxes in the first chamber before you talk to the ghost.
2. Talk to the ghost to take the quest.
3. Cast Famine, get the mesmer to cast Healing Breeze on you and cast Protective Spirit on yourself.
4. Go to the group on the west stairs.
5. Use the same tactics as fighting Aatxes, these die fairly quickly though.
5. They are dead, recast Famine in a similar place to the old 1, then repeat until all of them are dead.
Move on from that chamber to next lots of Aatxes, just always be alert of Dying Nightmares. Once all the Aatxes are dead, move on to the Ice Wastes.
The Ice Wastes:
Smite Crawlers:
How to Beat them:
1. Cast Famine about twice of aggro range away from them.
2. Just before aggro range have Protective Spirit and Healing Breeze cast on you, as well as 1 of the visages.
3. Get the mesmer to move back a bit for about 6 seconds, to allow you to get aggro under control.
4. The mesmer uses same tactics for spells as in the Aatxe guide, as do you.
5. They are dead, move on and reuse this until all smite crawlers are dead.
Coldfire Night:
How to kill:
Make sure to run in fast, with all the skills normally on, so that visage drains its energy, if its allowed to cast maelstrom then your basically dead. But, in this case the mesmer COULD decide to res u, if they decide it's safe. Or, if you dont have time to run in, then just use Savage Shot when they try to use maelstrom.
