Level theory?

Listen to this. It might sound weird as hell and unusable, or really smart. If it sounds as I wrote first, my apologizes.
Most people today care more about World Of Warcraft than Guild Wars. The 2 things the WoW-players hate most in Guild Wars is:
1. The "invisible walls" in the edges of every area.
2. The low max-level.
If both, or at least one (the lowest) problem could be solved, I think ppl would move from WoW to Guild Wars due to the fact that Guild Wars has no gaming fees.
Heres a little thing I've been thinking of to higher the low max-level system:
ANet Staff told us on the FAQ on guildwars.com that the low level system was because of the relation between Attribute points-skills-level.
One way to higher the max level is to increase the level but not the amount of attribute points or the damage of the skills. The 20+ levels will then only be kind of a show-off, which will help ppl with for an example joining a team. The only thing ppl earn when they get another level is a skill point and a higher number.
How does this sound to you? Once again I apologize if I passed the line.

No level cap increase. It's about as usefull as bows with chainsaws attached to them. All it would do is make the number next to your name higher.
If you like the high level unbalanced environment of WoW, then play WoW. Don't try changing another game that works fine without that stuff.

You'd be level 300 in a short order though, this would start to look silly.
Maybe if the minimal skill hunter title level didn't involve you capping a ton of skills from totally useless secondaries...

All this would do is give most players a superiority complex and cause the players who are unable to play the game as much to be left out from groups. This would take away from the whole point of guild wars. That being a game that doesn't require much time and can be played casually. I say just leave the level caps where they are at. They are perfectly fine where they are at and require no changing.

Oh and no that wouldn't make people flock to Guild Wars from any other online game. The main reason people pick them over GW is because that Guild Wars is instanced and not a traditional MMO. Guild Wars will not be changed to attract these kinds of players anyway.

GW is not WoW. GW is not trying to be WoW. If GW were WoW most of us wouldn't be playing it. No one here really cares what WoW players want GW to be like. If people want to play WoW they should play WoW, not try to turn games that are better than WoW into that grindy piece of schlock.

I could stomach a title that increments (with no upper bound) every {n} million points after you hit level 20 (maybe a logarithmic scale?) that has no bearing on any other titles or gameplay, but that would be about it.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

One of the reasons why the level cap is low is to prevent elitism. Just go to HoH if you want to see what happens when you have rankings.

We alreayd have titles for showing off numbers... whats the point of levels if they don't add anything to your character?

The Title thought, which I'd prefer NOT to see, would simply stroke the egos of those too primitive in their gaming intelligence to let go of the levelling concept without affecting gameplay.

many PVE-ers like gaining a level. It gives them satisfaction and a purpose to play on. One of the main reasons GW PVE players go to WoW is because as much as they play there is no character advancement. You are stagnant so to speak at 20. It also doesn't help that you can get to lvl 20 in a day or two.

GW has me spoiled to the point now that when I hit level 20 I'm relieved I don't need to worry about it anymore.

I think 99% of the GW community are happy with the way things are, at least when talking about balance. Level cap of 20 is here to stay.

Well, acctually, me and my whole guild and im pretty sure QQ left gw because of pvp. it sucks. anet made some, imo, dumb decisions.
i think guild wars would have been more successful if they had a higher level cap, and instead of releasing stand alone games, the released them all at once for one big game. its not my idea of fun to be able to beat nightfall in a weekend.

GLF People lvl 50+ only!
This would only cause more problems.

One of the great things about Guild Wars PVE is that most of the content is suitable for lvl 20 characters. It's never really a question of 'am I a high enough lvl for this zone'.....it's do I have the right skills on my bar and know how to use them effectively for this zone.
I think that is something that makes GW very cool.
To be totally honest I think that GW could have gotten away with having no lvls whatsoever! They would have given attribute points at the beginning from the starter quests and it would essentially be the same game.

Levels are not equal across games. Imagine, say, each level in GW gave you +1 to attributes and that there were 200 of them in total, and it costs the same to hit level 200 as it does to hit level 20 now. (In other words, new level 200 = old level 20). Now who has the bigger level cap, eh?
Level 75 in FFXI, for the effort required, is like level 600 in WoW. And characters still have a use for exp after level 75.
