As per the rules, I did not find this idea when I searched for it, nor did I find it listed among suggestions already made, so if I missed it, I apologize.
My idea is for pets to be controllable like heroes. Which Charm Animal on the skill bar, the pet is with the Ranger (whether primary or secondary). Just like a flag is made available in missions or explorable areas, I would like one that could simulate better control of the tamed pet: Stay (flag), come here (turn flag off), Kill! (put flag on target). Basically the same mechanics for heroes, just adding one more for a pet.
Also, on the subject of pets, I would like to see heroes have the option to turn in their pets at a pet tamer (such as putting the flag on a pet tamer, perhaps with a confirmation dialog box -- "Are you sure?"). Right now, it seems once a hero has a pet, they are stuck with that pet for life.

Not trying to jump on your idea, but it has been requested, and requested. Above is the link to the search for "controls for pets", as you can plainly see its a hugely requested feature, and with good reason I think. I believe Gaile has mentioned passing it on to the devs, Im not sure if there was ever any more news on it then that ? You might want to dig into a couple of those threads ?
Good luck with not getting locked down, but the future is looking mighty grim pardner.

Thanks for pointing that out. Better to have an idea posted to the right people one too many times, than for it to go unmentioned simply because someone was afraid to make a mistake.
So like I said, I tried to find the link and apologize that I didn't see it in time. And thanks for the link - I'll check that out right now.
