Damage Reduction

Forgive a n00b his ignorance but. Does damage reduction stack?
I have a Warrior wearing Ascalon Armour with each peice having -3 damage reduction on it, do these stack? Which would make a total of -12 damage reduction. If they do stack how does the something that states non-stacking work, is it that it will not stack on the same peice of armour i.e. adding a Damage Reduction Rune to Ascalon Armour I assume would just take the highest.

Thanks for any advice.
Sy.

ok ascalon armor will reduce damage by 3 if you have a full suit. If you just had a helm it would reduce 3 on hits to the head only.
Adding absorbtion rune(Superior) to one piece of armor will reduce damage (physical) by 3 wherever you are hit.

so if you have a full suit of ascalon armor with a superior rune of absorbtion on any 1 piece , you will be reduce physical -6.
If you just have an ascalon helm, and put a superior absorbtion rune on your non ascalon gloves, you would have reduce -3 all over, except head would be reduce -6.
Adding additional absorbtion runes Will NOT Increase damage reduction.

Hope that clears it up for you!!

I recommend going for a higher AL rather than a reduced damage mod. Since the absorption only works on physical damage, and as a war you're not going to take much anyways, you really need that extra 10-20 armor vs elemental

Have been thinking that myself. just got to Lions Arch and sail over to Cantha on a shopping trip for armour and am torn between the extra armour vs elemental or going Gladiator for the extra energy, but I think the extra vs elemental wound probably be a wiser choice.
