Searing Flames is AoE wich means the enemies will scatter. That won't make it a very popular damage source for farming.
Why_Me
There are ranged enemies you know. The big ones are dragon moss and this massive aggro of spears of torment and rain of terrors in domain of fear outside gate of secrets.
Cambeul
plus if are only using SF to degen them then they may not run at all?

Wow Cambeul, awsome idea!
Gather up the Trolls for example, cast SF once causing them all to burn for x seconds, wait x seconds to cast it again..
That would = 14 DPS / amazing e-management / no scatter!
QQ!!!!! IT COULD WORK!
(i think!)

Mr Bartel
degen also scatter, i had tried degen NEcro farming (poison + illnes + bleeding) and they did scattered.

Did you use Tainted Flesh? Because often causing a condition to a whole group of enemies so quickly will cause scatter..
Either way I'll give it a try later.

Why_Me
No, it scatters, I have tested with just burning speed.

It seems that scatter currently is based on melee monsters dropping below a certain amount of health (50% or so) when they are in groups larger than 3. It actually seems to have nothing at all to do with AoE.
For example, I was bored and decided to use conjure phantasm + conjure nightmare on my SoA monk to kill random things. Melee critters ran away after they degened to below 50%, even though I wasn't dealing any actual straight damage at all.

They scatter when they get below a certain amount of health, not just based on AoE damage.
Try it on Smites with the E/Me Sandstorm build. If you use SS/EQ and skip Aftershock, they'll all run away and will come 3 at a time till they've all fully regened. Then its back to a massive brawl.

Anyway, it depends on what you want to farm. Although there will most likely be better skills to use to kill something.
