First, fow armor on core professions just SUCK (except necro's one).
If u wanna buy it because in this way ppl think u r pro, man, i'm rank 0 and kicked the ass of
tons of rank 9/12 with their awful fow armor.
One year ago i bought warrior's fow armor and after a week, i felt stupid
in that jar, and salvaged it (got some ectos from that Oo)
Btw, if u really want that armor... My son drawed this for you^^
Jokin', the secret is the word "Solo".

I have 4 ways to get fast money:
1- Clean up fow alone with wammo (not spiders lol, i mean kill until u r alone in the map.)
2- Farm uw for ectos (just skip coldfires and behemot, they dont drop ectos)
3- Farm tons of "easy-to-sell" greens and sell them when u have full inventory.
4- Craft a perfect, rare skinned, gold weapon/shield, and make it more perfect than greens (like req 8-7)

But imho, it's not worth it.
On a warrior the best skin u can get is primeval armor with plate 15k helm, all black dyed.
Other armors just make u look like a clown

I couldn't agree more with this guy(nice picture btw ^^)this armor is my favorite...i wonder if u could tell me the wamo build to solo the whole fow cause i am one of the most poor pps in the gw community :P(soz for bad english)

I've been using the E/Me smite solo build and I've managed to get 46 ectos in the past 7 days without doing heavy farming. I seem to average about 1-3 ectos per run (usually 1) with each run taking 15-20 minutes. The plan is to over farm the ectos and trade them for shards.

A good part of those 7 days was mastering the build. I had to spend about 20K just to get good at this but it's really starting to pay off now. Aside from the ectos, the drops/chests are usually crap. But, if you complete the run it, always pays for itself and you always make a bit extra. Sometimes more if you find a really nice gold. And that's in addition to any ectos or jewels you find.

Well I dont know if it's bad luck or fow armor wont come to me, but i haven't gotten any ecto by farming smites. Been doing it for two weeks, and while waiting for favor i've been working on my legendary survivor para (lvl 13 yay!) Instead of overfarming ecto and selling spares for shards, I might do the opposite, since I seem to get at least one shard every few runs if not every run from FoW. Farming Stone Scale and Undergrowth are paying for my vabbian armor though, 1k+ per 2 min is nice income but very boring doing it over and over. Even AB is more exciting after donating faction (ppl in ab need to liven up a little, the all chat's for fun not so much as to degrade each other. heck sometimes nobody even wants to talk in ab, why so serious?) Anywas, horrible luck wtih UW I find, and not very nice luck in group farming (lol sometimes i wont get a drop in the group for 20 min amidst aggro, which is why i prefer to solo fow, though farming in a grp in fow means you'll come across more chests)

Grasping Darkness, let me in on your secret. All my uber-leet farm spots are all dried up xD

well, for pure gold, you could do hydras with a W/Me, I make about 4k a run there. Not too shabby for not having favor. But if you're dead-set on having that armor FAST, either power-trade your rares and greens or switch to Europe and get in quite a few more smite runs a night.

I've found SOLOING UW to be far and away the best source of steady income (two man works, but after that I don't think it's any better than the other areas you can go). Sure, it costs 1k to get in, but you make about 1-1.5k in gold and merchanted items, plus 1-2 ectos which is about 12k in profits per 20 minute run as an E/Me (my current build of choice). In addition there are the chests and random gold drops (2 or so purples per run, maybe one gold drop every other run, plus chests which adds about another 1 purple and 1/2 gold per run in my experience. Now if you seriously want to farm UW, you pretty much have to switch to Europe right now, which is the main thing standing between me and a FoW set.. Oh well.

I made about 220k in the last 2 weeks =). On my way for FoW. Have 3 ectos though and 0 shards. I'm probably gonna buy all my shards and farm all my ecto.

Any suggestions on if I should farm my butt off and buy my ecto and shards. Right now I can afford all the shards, just not the ecto. So should I buy the shards or farm? Definatley gonna farm for ecto and maybe buy the last couple.

Who says you need 1000k++++ gold for FoW armor. If you farm you need only like 100k. Not that I recommend that but if you make 500k you can afford all the shards and the armor cost, and then have some extra for ectos and farm the rest.

People generally include the price of the materials while citing an armor price since many people tend to buy the materials, not farm them.

I'm currently working on farming up ectos as well, I only need ~65 more until FoW

Some people in here are full of bullshit....

if you make 300k-1 million a day, you must sit playing GW for close to 20 hours a day.

MAYBE i could see making 50k a day, and still having a "life"

Power Trading, works very well. Also, simple farms that make near 1-2k a run add up a lot if they are fairly quick.

. Yeah, to make 1 million/day you have to play 20 hours a day... but!

How can a human play 20 hours a day!??! Supposing he's not working (example, i own a pub so i dun need to "go to work")
6 hours sleeping, 2 hours eating, 2 hours having sex/stay with girl, 2 hours with friends= at least 12 hours busy Oo 20 hours means death or at least hospital lol

i think its physically immposible to farm 1 million a day..even if you play for 24 hours straight. theres no doubt you CAN make a million in a day through very high end trades, a lucky drop or a noob seller selling a high end item for cheap. if you sit there for a full 24 hours soloing FoW and UW i doubt you would make a million...definatley immposible to make 1 million gold PER day.

and the thing about power-trading, is that i dont think i could ever do that, beings that spamming "WTS -whatever-.." over and over and over again would get really boring. and if no one will buy it, then u screwd cause you wasted the money on buying it in the first place so i think its a risky buisiness.

its funny....about an hour ago i posted and was wondering how i was ever going to get fow armor..then guess what

im getting those burried treasures that a-net reset and was getting one in the realm of torment. i had a few margonite keys too and opened a chest only to reveal a req 11 elemental sword...i guess i will be getting fow after all! or at least a few pieces, but hey good enough, i can farm the rest =).

I just can't kill a simple enemy with any of the sliver builds... But it's just me imo.
It's nice if you do a service on guru that people wants, like Gates of Madness for 10k or don't know. You can get profit with it

If you want to get you FoW you've to options:
1. Power Trade
2. Farm

When you're going to Farm, do things like a Smite run. There are several builds for it. Also a Spider Run in the Fissure of Woe is very profitable. You can do like 2-3 spider runs and get 5-6 shards out of it. Also 2-3 Smite Runs and you'll end up with 2+ ectos. Repeat this several times a day and you'll have your FoW in about a month I think.

Spider runs used to be profitable, but since shards have dropped so much in value solo smite runs are really a lot more profitable. 2-3 smite runs does not give you 2+ ectos. It's all luck. i've done 5 in a row and only get 1. I've done 2 in a row and get 4. It's all luck. Which I seem to have none of :P.
