Imagine if you could equip 10 skills, and could carry 2 elites (1 for the primary class and 1 for the secondary class)

One could imagine the many hundreds of new build possiblities that this would bring to both PvE and PvP gameplay experiences!

Question to Gaile:

HINT: Of course they would never do this, read the next hint!

Is this a far-fetched idea? Too much of an unbalanced idea? Or maybe a future gameplay mechanics idea?

Question to all GuildWars fans out there:

HINT: This is for fun, be creative!

What would you do with a 10 slot skill bar?

I'm all for it, however everyone will whine about how it would mess up the game balance.

I'm also predicting someone will say if you want more skill slots go play (insert another RPG here). Guild Wars is unique because you only get 8 skill slots, bs, more bs, etc...

sigh...

not to rain on your parade here, but this wont be received very well, ie you will get flamed. this idea is brought up every couple of weeks and is always shot down. it alters play mechanics that arent broken (whats wrong with 8 skills? if it aint broke, why fix it?). and it goes against the lore of the 8 skills (magic signet rings on each finger, or something along those lines), not that i care about the lore.

it all comes down to this: if we can have 8, someone will want 9. if you have 9, someone will want 10. even if it did become 10 skills, it wouldnt be a month before someone said "Why not 11? Its only 1 more!" there just isnt any reason to change it to start with.

I'm trying to imagine the manpower and expense involved in rebalancing the entire game, adjusting the skill bar of every creature and NPC, rebalancing all the elites since interaction between them would become possible, rebalancing all the other skills in light of the change, and taking care of all the other ramifications of this change that I can't even put words to at the moment.

Now I'm trying to imagine why they'd bother.

well without going too deep into thought you can easily find some elite combos that can give people the "God" status. thats for sure...

You mean i could bring both Healing Hands/Grenths Balance AND Gladiators Defence?! ^^

It wouldn't really work... A new wave of 100Blades/IW Mesmers. LoD/EP Flag runners. Would be fun... but insanely unbalanced.

I would run a sb 55 and still have space for the ability to arcane conundrum, interrupt and degen you to death for using the word rape in a jovial manner.

So do Skales... and nobody cares because 1. Driftwood are shit and there combination or elites, more so. 2. Skales never actually use GB unless on extremely low health, which more often that not leaves them dead before they decide to use it.
