Hey, I'm fairly new to GW and have a couple of mid teen charaters. One of whom is a W/Mo. I have been using a sword but decided to try the axe skill after finding a nice axe. However Dismember does not appear to wound, is it bugged or has it been nerfed?

Dismember:
If it hits, this axe blow will inflict a Deep Wound on the target foe, lowering that foe's maximum Health by 20% for 5...17 seconds

It hits but never wounds.

Thanks for any help
Sy.

no dismember still works. go to the pvp island and head over to the test dummies. smack one with dismember and a gray down arrow will appear on its bar. that signifies the deep wound.

Will give it a try. The reason I though it wasn't working was because when you have a sword equiped and use Sever Artery and Gash after (to wound and deep wound) the mobs health bar changes from red to pink and has a down arrow placed in it, but when I use Dismember that doesn't happen.

that pink in the bar is the bleeding, not the deep wound.

Also, keep in mind that you will not see the effects of the deep wound (namely the 20% drop in health) until the next hit after dismember. Deep wound is a great spiking tool - and many people follow up with Executioner's or currently critical chop - this will allow you to see a significant reduction in a foe's health.

Currently got Axe Twist following Dismember.

Skills running:-
Dismember
Axe Twist
Penetrating Blow
Executioner's Strike

But thats mainly due to they're the only 4 adrenaline axe skills I currently have.

Axe twist is great for covering the Deep Wound. I prefer axe rake instead - because it causes crippling. Aditionally, I would suggest using Executioner's after dismember, followed by axe twist/rake in order to get as big of a spike in damage as possible. I would also suggest using frenzy before using any of the skills, that way if the enemy is trying to kite, you have a better chance of getting all 3 skills on him first and the damage is done very quickly. Bring along sprint or another stance, however, to cancel frenzy if you start taking damage.
