a question about attribute points

i'm currently investing my attribute points into two attributes.. specifically fire magic and energy storage..

my question is about this attribute setup specifically:

Fire Magic 12 + 2(major) + 1(helm)
Energy Storage 12 + 2(major) + 1(????)

is that extra point under energy only obtained through a staff/wand/focus?

You cannot include +1 from weapons, as they are not guaranteed.

You can get +1 attribute, I think, from Balzathar or someone (by praying to them).

You can use a Superior Rune of Energy Storage, that will give you your +3.

Mate unless you have a very strong love towards ES Spells, I would reccomend you remove that +2 (or +3???) rune and replace it with a +1 Minor one that doesn't hurt your health!

Also, if you're going to play Fire, you need to have the Sup Fire Magic rune!

Infact, as a general rule, when concentrating on 2 Attributes, the 16/13 combo is ALWAYS better than the 15/14 one!

But again, using the Major rune on ES is really pointless as all its spells work very well at 13 and giving up the 35 health for 3 points of energy is just bad game-sense...

Also, like "Pick Me" said, you shouldn't count the +1 (20%) from the weapons because they aren't a "all the time" deal . .
(They're pretty useless too, IMO, but can sometimes be fun (specially on Armor Ignoring spells/skills etc)

If you don't have a 3rd attribute, I wouldn't even bother with the minor Energy Storage, and just grab another vitae for 12+4 Fire, 12 Energy Storage. Do you get anything special for 13 ES? No. So who cares?
