I have used this build since I captured Warrior's Endurance in the desert and only made a few fiddles here and there, the most recent one being adding a new nightfall skill.

Attributes:

Strength: 12+1+3= 16
Axe mastery: 8+1= 9
Healing Prayers: 10

Skills:

Warrior's Endurance {E}
Counter Attack
Power Attack
Cyclone Axe
Doylak Signet
Vigorous Spirit
Healing Breeze
Rebirth/Balthazar's Spirit (Party/Solo)

Equipment:

Full set of max Knight's or Ascalon armour with the following runes:

Superior Strength
Minor Axe Mastery
Best Vigor rune you can afford (I only have a minor one)
Superior Absorption
Vitae

Weapon:

Totem Axe and Max armour strength sheild with +30hp and -5 (20%)

____________________________

Usage:

Just before aggroing any enemies, cast Vigorous Spirit on yourself. Select your target and run in opening with power attack or counter attack. Just before your attack hits, activate Warrior's Endurance and Doylak Signet. (if you are in a party, make sure everyone else stays back until you have all aggro). Now it is simply a case of spamming your 3 attack skills, reactivating your stance and doylak signet as soon as they are recharged (DS recharges before it runs out at strength 16) and keeping Vigorous Spirit on yourself. Use healing breeze for emergency healing or as a cover enchantment when there are any pesky mesmers floating about.

When using an axe the attack rate is perfect for this build. While the 3 attack skills are recharging, you have enough for 1 more normal attack in between, gaining back the small amount of energy lost from each attack and fueling your self heals. If you are farming using BS, you will almost never see "Not Enough Energy".

One big weakness of this build is lack of condition/hex removal, so avoid enemies with inflict dangerous hexes or conditions or bring a monk to help you out. Another major problem is the slowdown from DS. If the enemy decides to go for a little wander, you will be completely incapable of chasing after him. This is less of a problem when soloing, because you are the only thing they attack.

This build is great in the desert, it is immune to the knockdown on the hydras and the minotaurs and griffons do next to no damage to you.

Used in the Fissure of Woe along with a bonder you are almost invincible. Just remember to cover up the bonds with one of your own enchantments.

Ok... Constructive criticism...

Healing Prayers, in short, suck on a warrior for general purposes. With that high a Strength, Lion's Comfort would be a superior healing skill; combined with Cyclone Axe it will charge fast enough to keep yourself healed. By dropping the energy-draining spells, you can then run a more useful elite. Personally, I'd run a high Axe Mastery and use an elite Axe attack, but if you are insistant on being a ... 'tank' ... then I suppose... ugh... [skill]Defy Pain[/skill] would be worth a look.

And Power Attack is rather lame as far as attack skills go. I'd heartilly recommend... Critical Chop, Protector's Strike and Bull's Strike instead, or maybe Dismember for the deep wound. Or Distracting Blow for its general awesomeness.

I ain't really got much else to say... I never tank, it seems a waste of time and a party space for the most part.

If u guys could of just read the first post, you would notice that he says he uses this build to solo and to play in the crystal desert. That's not a pvp build. So "lol" at the guy that complain about not seeing frenzy in the build. Healing prayers sucks on a warrior? Yeah right. They're freaking dominant in some area when soloing, especially vigorous spirit.

As an example i tested many build to kill chor solo ( for chor's axe --> i try soloing all the warrior greens just for the fun of it ) I wanted to solo him without the henchies trick because its far too easy. I first tried with healing signet and victory is mine (with the desperation + drunken blows combo) but it doesnt heal nearly enough. The build with which i finally managed to farm chor used both vig spirit and live vicariously at 10 healing prayers. Thats 27 life healed every attacks. I used flail (something like 1.10 attacks per seconds). After 10 seconds, it heals for about 280 life. Pretty darn good if you ask me. Still i was taking too much damages because chor has a lot of minions with him. All i did is add healing hands. That made the run extremely easy. Its actually pretty tough to die. The build was [skill]vigorous spirit[/skill] [skill]dolyak signet[/skill] [skill]flail[/skill] [skill]sever artery[/skill] [skill]gash[/skill] [skill]standing slash[/skill], [skill]healing hands[/skill], [skill]live vicariously[/skill]. Zealous sword with of enchanting mod, - damage + life when enchanted shield. Strenght at 12, healing at 10 and rest into swordsmanship (15 i think). I think i used 2* -75 runes (swords and strenght).

In that example, healing prayers are the best choices. Actually, when solo farming, healing prayers are almost always the best choice. That or the healing combination of the 2 blows with victory is mine and healing signet. Im talking about solo farming of course. I agree that healing breeze isnt good, at least on a warrior. It doesnt heal enough for the amount of mana spent and its a slow heal. Peoples have been making fun of healing prayers used on a for years but everyone that likes to solo farm and have tweaked many solo builds knows that there is 3 skills extremely good at solo healing : vig spirit, live vicariously and healing hands. Peoples laughing at healing hands for sure havent tested it in a solo farming situation because this skill almost always refill your health bar for a mere 5 mana. And its an enchantment so it heals while u take damage meaning that in the 12 seconds that the spell lasts (i use "of enchanting" mod), it can heal for about 500 or 600 damages.

Regarding to the poster's thread, your build isnt bad at all for what you are playing, which is solo farming and pve in crystal desert. Keep tweaking it. Try the build i listed, if you use prophecy campaign only, swap flail for [skill]flurry[/skill] (you will need a zealous modded sword for sure though) and standing slash for [skill]galrath slash[/skill]. It's impressive whats possible to be solo farmed with this build.

All in all, a tank build usually isn't commonplace here, in the future, try to avoid posting them. People tank different ways and for different reasons. Tanking is, was, and always will remain situational. I myself tend to try to make my builds before I head out into the fray.

Generalization is done now. Because you seem to be new, I'll be easy here. Healing Breeze might be great at low levels, but at the higher levels of play I believe you can pull this one out pretty safely. If the change to weakness goes through I'd advise bringing your axe mastery up to 10 to be on the safe side. Defy Pain and Endure Pain seem to be popular among the "OmfgI'matank" crowd, but when I'm on my monk I can't stand it. Check your fellow W/Mo's posts for advice on other skills. Just remember your place and you should be fine- on here, and out there.

Defy Pain can be kept up constantly, and you will never notice it as a monk unless you're spying on the warrior's skills.

kanuks, solo farming is completely different than PvE, and yes that includes the crystal desert.
Your advice at the end of your post is bad. Flail costs no energy. Use a cancel stance like Enraging Charge to make up for the only weakness.
If you're always in a stance, as is the case with Flail/Enraging, then Standing Slash is simply a Galrath that costs 2 less strikes of adrenaline. Taking BOTH is not a bad idea though.

Also with the buff to Power Attack.. *sigh*
*big sigh*

Of course i know that pve is diff than solo farming. When i pve i normally use a high dps build with watch yourself.

Yeah my last advice was a solo farming build. Also i dont think you need a cancel-flail stance in pve. If i have to chase a target i just switch to another one near me.

If you want to solo the desert, try this build...

Armor = sentinel (100 armor) or plate (90 armor), +1 strength helm

Runes = whatever vigor, suprior tactics, suprior strength

Use an adrenal sword if you can.

Attributes = 8 healing, 15 strength (11+4), 14 tactics (11+3)

Flurry
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Defy Pain [e]
Doylak Sig
Vigerious Spirit
Live Vicously
Balthzars Spirit

It's "dont feel no pain"s build and usage can be found here:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=91567

There's also an old Axe solo build for Wa/Mo that I used to use back in the day but haven't tried it again since before Factions came out...let's see if I can remember it...

Cyclone Axe
Bonetti's Defense
Gladiator's Stance [e]
Healing Sig
Live Vicariously
Vigorous Spirit

ummm.....I can't remember the rest. Those are the core skills though. Put 8 in healing and put the other points in accordingly.

Maybe the desert has changed and these no longer work but I figured I'd try to help out since almost everyone else was too busy insulting each other and you to actually say anything of much use

Have fun!

-Never have more str than weapon mastery, and never have less than 14 weapon mastery.

-It's allright if you literaly have nothing else, but in the long run Warrior's Endurence is a very poor elite. For axe PvE Triple Chop [e] and Cleave [e] amoung others are good. Weapon Mastery-linked elites are FTW.

-Do yourself a favor and unlock Flail with Balthazar Faction. You can't actually buy it untill late in the game, but it's hard to beat. IAS is FTW.

-Since your weapon mastery will be higher, go with attacks in your weapon's like. Exe Strike, and Dismember. Actually, don't leave home without dismemeber. Deep Wound, like IAS is very much FTW.

-Healing Prayers: skip those on a PvE warrior, unless you're soloing. For Party play, Healing Signet, or Lion's Comfort is all you need, it's a team game, and you will have a monk. If you trust your monks, you don't even need that self-heal.

-Unless you're tanking in DoA, or soloing, leave Dolyak at home. The self-snare keeps you from moving to intercept mobs, and from moving from monster to monster. (It might be ok if you don't pump str like mad)

-"Watch Yourself!" and "Sheild's Up!" are great defensive skills. If those skill buffs last week, a single defensive stance might be worthwhile as well.

-For soloing, meh, whatever works. Just remember that the goal is not "Hey, I could tank 10000000 more of these" It's to kill stuff as fast as you can with a semblence of depandability. Once you hav e a build in mind, just give it a shot with slightly lower defense and more offense, go 14, 13 str, with higher weapon mastery, and see how it ends up

There's a difference between farming and actually fighting in terms of PvE. Warriors deal the most damage consistent damage compared to other classes. Why limit your warrior to a "Tank," when you can deal damage and "tank"

Dolyak Signet and Watch Yourself! s all you need.

You won't be able to farm Griffons and Minotaurs in the desert.

Beat_Go_Stick, don't try to sound like the "good" guy when you're not giving information of any use. Just give the link then. Warrior solo farming is only profitable when farming UW or FoW.
