pve disregarded
Hand of Ruin
It just dissapoints me that the devs only pay attention to the pvp metagame and adjust these skills based on what they see there. Not that there is anything to watch in pve, but skills just aren't the same in both... a skill used on a lvl 20 monk with 60 armor in pvp doesn't work the same when you use it on a lvl 28 in pve with whatever armor monsters have at that level. Especially when you consider that some monsters have attributes above 16, and much more health than human players, the idea of IMBA skills in pve becomes more and more ridiculous.
I just dont understand why Anet bothers to try and make a pve version to this game, when all skills are considered soley for pvp use. yea you can beat pve with a bunch of shit skills, but whats the point? why run around like a retard with subpar skills and abilities and just push your way through the game.
it seems to me there is less and less finess in pve, and it just becomes about continually spamming your skills until you kill the monk, then go one by one through the enemies. not that skills nerfs or buffs can change how pve is played, but at least they can give you a good feeling when you have skills to work with, that when you use them well, let you win and win well. Not just push and push till you eventually get to that green sunburst.
im not saying pve is hard, I hero henches all campaings multiple times, and its easy. DoA is another story, but the point is skills are constantly "balanced" for pvp, and destroyed for pve, and no one seems to really give a damn about how these skill changes effect pve. with so many skills limited or useless in pve, it just becomes a dull and unrewarding game.
some people understand what I mean, and will flame me and tell me pve is insignificant and pvp is the only reason to play this game. some will understand and agree, some will misunderstand and flame. someone will lock this eventually. I can't say I give a shit really, just my opinion and reaction to some of the skill changes, which I know are not permanent, but it's clear when these balances come that are permanent, anet will be looking at pvp and pve will be disregarded, as always. I know people will call me a whiner and complainer, but as I said I really cant manage to give a shit and the opinions of people on this board mean very little to me, so flame away I really wont read them.

Completely agree. I don't play the PvP side of the game, apart from the odd GvG game. It seems to me that as soon as one PvP player get's all whiny about a certain skill ANet decide to nerf it (or should that be balance it?)! I don't think they even give the slightest thought about PvE and the players who only use that aspect of the game.
Horuku
That's why they called it GUILD WARS (prolly sounds like it's a PvP game!) and not RAID WARS. This game isn't about pve, the current pve is pretty lackluster and lame anyways. Go play WoW or something if you want your PvE.
Diablo???
Here we go.... again.

I agree with you.....I dont pvp and it seems that neither do the devs....its sad since lots of stuff they have tried (and I mean tried) to do to make pve better is just window dressing, like more armors....pretty useless, but pretty nontheless. They do most things for what they care about, pvp and the rest of us are left with a game that lacks anything other than grind and pvp-like ai-s......wish they would separate the 2 so that we could enjoy pve a bit more.

The game has a PvE aspect. ANet should try to keep both sides happy, unfortunately people like Horuku here make me feel like PvP players are overfed whiners.
Also, Horuku, people do play PvE!
Shock Horror huh?
Im mainly PvE, (holy s**t!)
And just because you feel that PvP deserves more that doesnt mean you can tell people to go spend more money just to get some PvE.
Go play something else so we dont have listen you.

I don't know. I also don't play PvP except an occasional RA while I'm waiting for my friends to show up in game. But...
As I look down the Paragon skills changes, it makes it even harder to find a usable paragon build for PvE. I'm going to have to sit down and think hard *again* to find a PvE paragon build that will contribute enough to the party to be worth being there.

Hah. Works both ways doesn't it?
PvP players cry and moan that PvE get all the attention and updates. Then we get PvE players cry and moan that PvP get all the attention and updates.

Typical "Go play WoW" comment, well if Guild Wars is just about PvP then why's the Battle Isles and the other Arenas so small in comparison to PvE explorable areas then smartarse?

And wonderful job with your post Mikkel!

I think PvE has been neglected to the point of not being worth playing, compared to WoW. If ANet want to rebalance skills for PvP that's fine, just dont expect people to hang around for much longer.

one of the most useless and least intospective posts ever made, its a pve weekend for christ sakes!
