Stuck at "Connecting to ArenaNet"

Today morning I decided to check the Test Weekend changes, so i ran Gw. I got the usuall download window, downloaded some files, but after this, Gw can't connect. I'm currently stuck at the "Connecting to ArenaNet" for few hours I haven't changed anything since last time when Gw ran perfectly so I'm pretty much lost now. It would be great if anybody could tell me how to solve it

Thx for any sane input

Edit : Added some grammar, not perfect but better.

Did you check to make sure that your firewall is allowing Guild Wars to connect? With updates that change the main files this can cause the firewall to act funny.

This has happened to me quit a bit, the first time I contacted Anet, they had me do quite a bit of testing, and then just said it was my ISP. After some practical common sense investigating, I decided to reinstall since my laptop version would still connect on the same modem. The reinstall fixes this, and apparently Anet can't come to that conclusion, so try that and it should work, its annoying, but it works.

Checked firewall once more, restarted, sadly didn't help. I had to wait for the next change of file, now works like before. Nevertheless, thanks for all the help

I had a similar problem this morning.

Usually, the connect tab window only appears if I log in and the announcement screen is not visible yet-but I got an error message saying it was my internet or my router.
I closed GW, openend and it worked.
