Question about the Skills and Attributes panel

My character is a W/R, who started out using hammers, then mostly swords. On the skill panel, most of the skills have a number and a blue dot that I assume means the amount of energy required to do that move.There are several axe and hammer skills that have a number with a Question mark over a red Asterisk. What does this symbol mean?

That red icon is [wiki]adrenaline[/wiki].
