Fascinating Character Attribute Discovery--Help On Which Armor to Craft?
Ratsneve
Just turned L19 W/E in Ventari's Refuge. No focus on the E. Atrributes are: Strength 6; Swordsmanship 13; Tactics 9.
Fascinating...I'm a Warrior whose primary attribute is Strength yet that is my lowest--least important. And further...the Gladiator Armor 65 set I'm considering crafting in Ventari's Refuge adds Energy to its various pieces which is the primary attribute of the Elementalist part of my character that I'm not using!
Sooo... Since none of the skill I use use any E attributes should I craft Gladiator armor adding Energy +1 or in one case +3 in each piece OR Ascalon armor that seems to focus more on reducing physical damage that seems more a trait of the warrior? OR, should I mix up various pieces and get some Wyvern elemental damage protection, gladiator for some energy boost, and Ascalon for physical damage reduction?
I noticed in GuildWiki where I tried and failed to sort this out that later on there is superior armor costing 15 platinum each piece? That is going to be a real platinum drain to craft but maybe by then I'll be picking up platinum off the ground like I pick up GP now?
Please help with the armor selection...and anything else. Thank you.

dont craft the armor! dont waste our money. wait untill you get to the desert and u can get free armor from collectors (80 armor) and then save up at least 10k to craft the final good armor at Drokans forge.
just plz dont craft the 65 armor. save your money so when u get to Forge you vae at least 10 000gold. if you feel that you armor is weak use your skills like DOyak signet, stances, and even Ele spell Armor of earth.

By "our money" I guess you are speaking for one of my henchies?
I'm successfully still using 50 armor.
Some collectors in the area have offered 71 armor pieces but I never collect enough of what they are looking for before I'm out of that area so I've just been selling everything I find. I've got 15 platinum now but I read in GuildWiki that each piece of the best armor is 15 platinum!? Am I actually going to make 75 platinum for a full set of the best armor in Prophecies?
Thanks.

Maria gives good advice, save your money until you get to the desert where you can get al 80 armor from collectors. Or even wait until you get to Droknar's Forge where you can buy al 80 armor. You won't need max level armor yet, but when you approach the end of the game it will be very needed.
As for what type of armor to get later on, I'm using gladiator's armor for the extra energy, but others like other types. It's up to you to decide, it all depends on your playing style.
About so-called "ascended armor", yep it does cost 15 platinum per piece, plus each piece requires more materials than normal armor. For warrior armor it is not uncommon that a full suit will cost you about 100 platinum when you include materials. I know it sounds like a lot and when I first heard of it I thought that I would never afford it. A little later, and now almost all of my 10 characters have such armor, and I am on my way to save up for an even more expensive type. So don't give up on that thought, you'll make enough money for it.

Also keep in mind that there is no difference between 15k armor and 1.5k armor as far as funtionality is concerned. The only difference is cosmetic.

Really? Are you saying that ascended armor at 15K is only a cosmetic difference from a craftsman or collector's 1.5K piece of armor? That's good news. I don't need pretty armor--I've got a world to save...and keep saving.
What does "al 80 armor" mean...the "al"?
Thanks.

Armor Level = AL

Mixing armor types is pointless unless you want pretty looks. Gladiator's is mainly for energy-heavy warriors, otherwise go Platemail/Wyvern with a sword helm. Physical damage reduction isn't that great.

But why is strength the principle attribute of a warrior-gladiator even when its attribute seems least significant to build? And why is Elementalist's principle attribute of energy more significant to the warrior-gladiator type?
How long can I play with al or ar 50 armor? Should AL / AR terms be added to GuildWiki's Glossary?
I'm not interested in pretty looks so am I still going to need 5 x 15K platinum for best AR at games end and beyond or, as I think I have read, can I make due with 5 x 1.5K platinum--or there abouts through Prophecies? Does armor get even better and more expensive in Factions and Nightfall?
Thanks.

A warrior has a small energy pool. ( 20 ) Adding even just 5 means an increase of 25%. That is huge.
Strength is only usefull if you're brining strength skills, and cannot improve any other attribute. It only triggers on Attack SKills ( such as [wiki]Power Attack[/wiki] ) and even then the effect is small.
Energy heavy means "spamming" 5 energy attack skills or utility skills like [wiki]shock[/wiki]
I have played throughout the entire game with presearing armour ( twice as caster, once as a ranger, my warrior had yak's bend AL untill Droknar's Forge I think )

Just wait until you are in the desert, then get the free collector armor, it has full armor just like any other set you would craft in a city. Keep it, and use it. No need to waste money on sets that offer same protection.

It's 5 x 1.5k in Prophecies and Factions; in Nightfall it's 5 x 1k, but you have to buy insignias (the bonuses) separately. Additionally there are the costs of materials in all cases.

Other than the fact that you don't have bonus stats (+8e total on Glad, etc.)
