Strange question perhaps... but would anyone with knowledge of drop rates be able to tell me whether the Monk's Construct has a higher drop-rate in Sunjiang District Mission or Explorable?
I think its about time I converted at least one of my monk heroes to protection... and I've decided I want the Kaolin Protection Staff toward that end... not least because it looks funky (I managed to get the Kaolin Water Staff and Kaolin Domination Staff one after another in the same instance by accident before in Sunjiang Explorable, so I figure it can't be too tough to get the Protection Staff... right?)...
I know that the Monk's Construct is the closest construct to farm in Sunjiang Explorable, but if the drop-rate turned out to be significantly higher in the Mission (which I rather doubt), I'd want to know if it would be more worthwhile searching there.

I dont think the constructs actually drop their greens in the mission.

Even if they did, you only have a 50% chance to encounter the Monk's Construct. You'd waste hours going through the mission repeatedly when the Monk's Construct in the explorable is only minutes away from an outpost.

The greens do NOT drop in the mission.

Ok. That explains that then.
There is also the other little problem. I've discovered I can't even survive out there some of the time with a full party. Survivability drops down to around 20% if I have a party of 5 (myself, three heroes and one nuker henchie). Any less and its totally futile.
In other words I need a full party of 8 to kill the boss in question, along with the retinue... 90% of the time (the party of 5 can only kill him if the other group nearby are walking away, and do so before the undead minions start dying).
I wouldn't even bother trying if it weren't for the fact that I got two greens from Constructs before in a single blast-through (with a full AI party)... Must have been the explorable if they don't drop in missions.
If it turns out that was just exceptionally obscene luck then I might go back to Lou of the Knives... as I at least know I can take him down with a party of three... maybe even two...
I wouldn't mind getting the Kaolin Accursed Staff too... but I'm not fooling myself into thinking I could fight through the Monk's and Mesmer's Constructs every single time to get to the Necromancer's Construct.

You encounter a lot of fleshy creatures?
If so set up a Necro hero as MM... It might significally easen your way towards your goal.

Greens don't drop in the mission... It's a little tricky to do (monk boss is suppossed to be easiest, but if you do it the wrong way, it's the impossible one), but you should probably use the E/A or A/E build for farming kaolin...takes like 5 mins or less for a run (looking more at maybe 2-3 mins for just the monk...necro + mesmer + monk take around 10-15 mins at most).
pegasux
do what bloodied said and take an e/a or a/e. Thr run itself to get to the monk is about 3 min or so...but the tought part is gettting all 3 groups to aggro you at once. Most of the time if you only take the 2 groups it won't be enought to kill him cause of the other monk and rit that are healing him...with 3 groups its a cinch. either way there is a huge thread on the e/a a/e build if you have questions on it. g/l
