Recently my fellow guildie told me that after the "Double Drop Weekend" all the chests when, quote 'bleh' and arnt worth running anymore.

Ive been thinking maybe this is true, i have been running many, many chests in Nightfallen and out of many, many items only had 2 gold drops(a crapy armor, and a -20hp chalice)>.<

My Question: Do you still think Chest Running is worth it? Am i just running in a bad spot?

Id like to know people's feeback before a squander more money on keys.

well personally i think that some of the most "valued" areas have been a bit over run, but some areas are still "worth it"... give it some time and itll prolly be back up again... people just have to calm down on certain zones

Depends where you run. I went FoW chest running a few times when I happened to drop by ToA and some guy was offering to pay the whole fee. 14/20 gold.

only chest run in places where the key sells for 600g minimum at the merchant..preferably more.

best places to chest run--FoW, DoA, raisu palace, realm of torment and the fire islands for more high end-ish chests.

good places to chest run--echovolad forest/jade sea, sorrows furnace, vabbi, the desolation...ive gotten great golds out of all of these...especially vabbi and echovolad forest (req 8 15^50 gothic dual axe ftw..)

What ares are still "worth" it.

Maybe ill wait to chest run in DoA, but people seem to get nice stuff from Nightfallen Jahi.

i've gotten 2 elemental swords running in the sulfurous wastes (in wurms). you need to be really patient though, cause after a while the drop rates kinda get tossed down the drain for a day or two, so you need a backup place instead of the same one all the time

In my opinion chest running still is good if u know where to run. *Outside Marhan Grotto RULES* Mursatt hammers,bows drop and i got a req 9 15^50 one there ^_^. I use a warrrior with shadow form and chest run.

In my opinion Chestruns build up the market.

More than half of those Perfect Mods...Uber Skins...Low Req Godlike or even the lower stuff like High Req Nice skin....Decent skin decent req..

come from chests. the chances of getting a gold item from a chest is MUCH higher than getting one from a monster but then again the small price of 600-1500 gold isnt such a big price if you examine hte situation.
For the 600g keys, the average Gold Item is 1000-1500 worth. You can get a refund and some extra cash from a crappy unid gold. In nightfall, the Inscription business isnt so bad either. Inscriptions are always worth something good, and plus if you get a gold or purple high skinned, its garunteed you'll make money. Find an incriptable (E.G. = Crystalline REQ 8 -30% DMG -200HP crazy example not real) you can just reincript it and remod to brg its value up.

But the thing that bugs me is the actualy title. If you look on the service section, people just get the keys from others. The title doesnt mean as much as it used to mean. Sure they did the work, got the running experience, but who payed for that Key? who did the item go to? To get that title would mean spending huge loads of Cash..but not that title just costs time. (Same goes for the Wisdom Title) In the wisdom title, you atleast have to work for that money.

If you're going for elemental swords try going to an areas with lots of elemental creatures, shattered ravines was a good place I heard.

oh yah just wanted to let you kno that chest lvl doesnt seem to make much of a diff, i was lvl 4 when i got my elemental and my friend had R7 maxxed out title:P and it seems like i get better stuff half the time

i kinda switch every now and again..100 ancient, 100 demonic, 50 vabbi(takes to long lol)
some times i do FoW, npt as much now since i got NF.

No. CR is still very worth it. One of my Guildies got a Elemental Sword Gold and very nice Shield in Nightfallen and 2 Fiery and Icy Bladed Axes there. Got to Pick places that are hard and have good Chests and it depends on the Keys also. For Example i did Demonic CR (30+Keys) all my items were req9-10+ Famblous Golds nd only 5 or lower Grapes. It was very good

I've gotten 2 R10 Dead Swords in Poisoned outcrops and one R10 Sephis and Firey Blade Axe, IMO it's very worth it. I've opened around 400-500 chests there.

Don't pay too much attention to this but:.. I usually just open up any chests that are in the area I'm doing quests or stuff in. For instance last week, when I did 2/4 mallyx quest

got req9 inscrible shadow axe with hsr 10% and +30 health (hurray my first perfect

)

But when you do it like I do you start paying less attention to what stuff drop. Most of the stuff I find is worthless though and I'm hardly ever up for selling stuff..

Anyway I suggest if you go chestrunning, try a difficult area or one that's fun to run in (DoA or FoW for instance

), makes you worry less about the time you're busy with it.

@novawhiz: sorry for not responding originally. the first ele sword i got was on the like 80th chest i did, and the second one was on the 350th (about there). i usually make enough money from mods/inscriptions to just buy new keys over and over again, and seeing as the keys are 40 for 24k, that can be very easy to maintain.

ps: no dead swords, fiery blades, icy blades yet, i dont know how
