Ideas for chapter 4
hoboplasm
You know..Guild Wars just left off with Ascalon being undefended from the Charr. They should make some sort of thing that helps us understand what happend to Ascalon. Did they push em back? Did the Charr conquer Ascalon? If the Ascalonians won, did they ever launch a counter attack? IMO, they should make a chapter where you push deep into Charr lands and discover what this mysterious warrlike race is. Who where they lead by? What where they fighting for? why the heck would they want to blow up and conquer Ascalon? Where they mindless and ruthless? Or had a reason to fight and were united under a leader? How did the death of the only Prince affect Ascalon and King Abderlin? The Charr? This and more questions still wander in my mind.
Even though there has been unresolved threats such as Corsairs and stuff in other chapters, the Charr seemed like a heck of a problem. The Ascalonians were being pushed hard. In Shiverpeaks, it seemed like the Deldrimor Dwarves were able to supress the Stone Summit and the White Mantle//Krytans were able to stop the remenants of the Undead onslaught (as the end of Prophecies resolved). The Charr seemed pretty threatening...I mean the magnititude of that blast that crippled Ascalon was like nuclear.
------EDIT------
Also ive noticed in ALL chapters there is an unresolved Chaos. In Tyria... If the White Mantle where evil wouldnt that cause civil revolts in stuff in Kryta? Eventually affecting Shiverpeak and Ascalon Areas? The Undead still had forces, they just were leaderless. In Cantha... there were still huge mafias and gang violence unresolved (even w/ quests) constant gang warfare. How would they cope with this? and also the luxons and kurzicks only agreed with their alliance to stop Shiro... but what about after? wouldnt the defeat of Shiro not solve the problem, just east it? I mean alot were killed in this fight if you recall. Did you see how much the Afflicted killed?! How weakened the Canthan military force had become after fighting Shiroken? If Tyrian of Elonian forces wanted to, the split up Cantha could be conquered easily by such a well organized military police force such as the White mantle. In Tyria, they are divided but know when to unite and when to stop. In elona, Constant Corsairs? Undead Deserts? Friggin Alligator warriors? I know this is a game and all, but wouldnt an Empire with all these foes crumbe the instant they went to war? I still wonder how such weakened forces are able to maintain such a stable order Guild Wars reflects. I know its a game, but its just a sense of realism its lacking. Nonetheless, Guild Wars is a superb game and still appeals to me. But every game has its flaws and errors.

they did tell us what happined, the ascalon guards where cought off guard too bussy fighting with the other kingdoms, so they fell back to kingdom of orr and died....it tells us alot about the charr, even why they came here.
chapter 4 will be like lost planet i bet
we searched for the sanctuary(that one ascilon city lost to the charr, thats in the charr homeland......north....but what we found was war........

Well guild wars has tended to go with a racial profile with each type of expansion. We started out with the typical white characters. Moved on to the oriental/asian look. Then we went with the dark skinned/egyptian/middle eastern look. So I think next should be something like the Aztec empire. Maybe we can have a latino look with Aztec temples found in the jungles, lots of human sacrifice, lots of astrology.
Tide to Go
You know the three kingdoms? like Orr, ascilon.....well the kingdoms where at war, and no one had time to pay attention to the charr coming from the north
The charr have many documents on them about where they live(North of ascilon) and what they worshiped, many things like that, just type them in, in Google or something.
Ascilon was too bussy holding their ground with their backs turned twords the other kingdoms. While the charr came rushing into the kingdom out of no where, ascilon was having some trouble. Packs and packs of these charr just came rushing from the north trying to make it over the Northern Wall. The army of ascilon dident know all of these charr came to tear them apart, so they did the best they could to fight the kingdoms...AND, the charr at the same time. It came down to the Ascilon army being out numbered so they fell back to Orr. The charr followed them to Orr and started killing everyone in that kingdom too. This lead to the explosion, the charr where to out numbered and this royal guy (I think the lich in his human form...) Protected himself with dark magic and exploded the place, everyone died, and the city sank.
About the City over the mountains to the north.....it was abbandon by Ascilon because of the charr, so the charr took it over.I herd this in another post somewhere in here, ill go find it.
When i was talking about The lost planet(game) they got a preview that says, "we traveled over the mountains searching for the santuary, but what we found was war It would be my guess that:
Could mean (in the case of guild wars) we traveled over the mountains to recover the lost city....but what we found was war, involving charr, and other races, we will get allies (new races) cool stuff like that.
not as detailed as I could get, but.....I may edit it tomarrow with more detail in the detail

And about Drascir since you must have read that thread, it is only a city. There were prisoners that needed to be free in the Ruins of Surmia mission. That place is Drascir.
Though the most interesting thing about Drascir is that there is a Tomb somewhere in the area just like how the Tomb of the Primeval Kings was. It was another way to get to the Underworld and then to the Hall of Heroes. Also Lord Victo of Orr was buried there and he assists the prophecies heroes (Mhenlo, Cynn, Aidan, Eve, and four others) into the Rifts. Read it about here

In times of peace, most of these threats are mostly kept in check by the local governments. What we see, though, is during a period in which the government's forces are being diverted to whatever the major threat in the campaign is, or immediately afterwards before they've got themselves mobilised to return to dealing with the normal problems. Outside of such massive upheavals, however...caravans still need to hire guards to get from point A to B, but a careful traveller generally won't get themsleves killed on the way.
Essentially, in the times of the game, there is a certain degree of low-level chaos that always arises in a society without threatening to bring it down even in times of relative prosperity - there's a reason why extremely well-policed states are often described in fantasy with the cliche of "a woman can cross the country unescorted with a bag of gold and expect to remain unmolested along the way". Such security is unusual - generally in medieval times anyone travelling would want to either be able to defend themselves or have people who can defend them.
Essentially, in the societies we see, you EXPECT them to have a few problems, even without being aggravated by something big happening. It's just that in peacetime, these are kept more in control than what we see, and in a conventional war, the other side usually has the same low-level internal trouble and they typically balance out.

well there are not many cultures left for them to make an expansion, i can think of Spanish, Aztec/Mayan, native americans (could be with az and maya), Indian, and maybe another european contery. I think Indian (as in from India) would be cool. Native americans might look too lol
EDIT-----
Well if they did do the whole Spanish native american thang, They could have the aztecs and mayans at war with their own gods then the spanish come with the 6 gods we know of and try to convert em >.>. Some class options would be like Jaguar Fighter (that may be too close to warrior), I was thinking mystic but then i thought ritualist. There might be a class that focuses on the gods (kinda like the dervishes avatars except more skills about gods) I hope they get more into lore with this.

I was thinking they might do something like have a game which has a Norse Mythology theme or a Greek theme. They could have profits or something able to see into the future and give more chance of dodging enemy attacks or something. Maybe a Thief class, because they do not have a rogue class yet and they have all the other traditional RPG characters only in different forms. W/Mo= Paladin. Ranger = Obvious. R/Rit = Druid. Mo/W = Kind of cleric. W/R or W/A = Kind of barbarian. Necromancer = obvious N/Mo is traditional necromancer though. Warrior obvious. Monk obvious. Wheres the Rogue though? T/A or aka Theif/Assasin can be Rogue. If they really wanted to make a big change though they could add a new race like elf but I cant see the point of that.
veryl mikagoh
ye i realy think there should be a little chapter for ascalon, in tyria itsself, above kryta you know, thats the perfect place for a new ascalon, maybe with tree's in spring, and not in autumn the revenge of ascalon :P
Vorianatriedes
I think you will probably be able to turn into a different creature for a few levels in the fourth game as everyone liked being abel to do that. I hope they make it so you do that anyway. Also they might introduce a new race such as centaur which can move faster than normal people but will be weaker than soem other area than humans.
xshadowwolfx
In the latest dev. report it is pretty much comfired that no new races will be added in Ch4. Devs are thinking about it but haven't done anything with that yet.

Perhaps the devs are concentrating on the gameplay more, and adding more stuff to the game
We are supposed to be having a new type of storage after all..
I'm betting on more customisation on the armor
ie. instead of a cape that is traditionally worn on the back, how about a sash type or one that hangs over the shoulder, or is tied at the waste?
New types of weapons, more designs and variations on them.
I'd like to see a Ball & Chain or a Mace for warriors.
A Weapon, like the generic Mesmer "Cane" that is actually held like a cane/walking stick.
Perhaps, the ability to do more with your pet as a ranger, give your pet their own skill bar, with say...3/4 spaces in it for skills that they can attempt to use. (This is a big change, but I think it would do more for rangers to carry their pets other than to use for IWAY or show off!)
As I mentioned in another thread, if they did put another class in, for me it would have to be the rumoured "Druid" that keeps cropping up, or at least my idea for it :
Have skills that change you into the local Fauna, and gain their skills, so a cross between being a Junundu and the Dervish Avatar's.
I'd love to transform into a wolf and start bounding at an enemy using skills to bite at their ankles
Maybe even elite skills to become an enemy..ooh (just thought of it)
Anyway. My two pennies

The next guild wars expansion will consist of a single zone inhabited solely by tameable pygmy hippos. Why? Because graphical glitches be damned, I want me a pygmy hippo!!! Arenanet how dare you tease us with hippos only to take them from us!

I've heard that the new campaign will take place in a russian-like continent... perhaps medieval. One of the new professions will probably be a bard. I suspect that the continent will be on the northern part of Tyria, like how Elona is south of the Crystal Desert. I think the Shiverpeaks will be part of it, as well as an undestroyed part of Ascalon.

Eldin
If they follow the continent/ethnic trend, I'd say something arctic.
I want them to go back to the medieval theme though! EverQuest can have a bazillion expansions while keeping the medieval theme, why can't ANet? I'm totally crazy about all things medieval.
We know Elona and Tyria are on the same supercontinent, it could be even superer-er. :P I'm eager to know what is north of those greyish green mountains that border the top of Ascalon and the Shiverpeaks. Would be interesting if, say, there is more to Deldrimor than in Prophecies, and there are more of them up north or something.

Calling me a nazi is quite ignorant and ungrounded, do you even know what a nazi is? You just told somebody to improve their grammar a few posts up, stick to your guns eh?
And chapter 4, we know nothing of it. 99% of these posts are by people that have no clue what it is they're talking about and yet get angry when somebody points it out.

The one thing i would love to see for ch 4 would be the removal of the forced story line... when it was introduced in ch 2 and 3 i was boring imho. they should make the game like Proph.

It's certainly unreasonable to expect anyone to get there overnight, but you can at least make the effort. I've noticed numerous spelling errors in your posts that could be avoided by double-checking with a dictionary. Furthermore, pretty much every post by a fluent writer is an example of correct... well, more correct grammar and punctuation that you can copy and learn from until you don't have to any more.

It does require a bit of effort, but in the long run it'll mean you'll never be on a receiving end of a conversation like this one (in English, anyway), as well as having people pay more attention to your writing in general. (Even when people aren't being grammar nazis and consciously refusing to read text due to bad grammar, the fact remains that the rules of grammar are there for a reason - it makes things easier to read and understand, and people are more likely to pay attention to something they can understand...)
Sorry about continuing this OT discussion, but I thought it was worth saying.

i'm more interested in who the villian would be for the next chapter. how do you top a forgotten god? my guess would be instead of going for scope, maybe going for scale. what if the villian of chapter 4 was entire guild, its members and leaders, bent on taking over a country and it fell on the player to stop them?

Does anyone else think that Prophecies was an unfair medieval representation? While Tyria seemed to represent parts of Western Europe, compared to how well Cantha and Elona were decorated with their respective themes I don't think Prophecies really could be considered really medieval. Yes there was a feudal system in Ascalon, however what about a Christian religious ideology similar to the belief in the spirits in Cantha and that of a great darkness such as nightfall in Elona. Kryta however though the zealous mantle of the white mantle is more akin to the Ori in Stargate Sg-1 than crusading knights of the 12th century. While I recognize that Arena.net did not create Guild Wars originally with the idea of individual chapters in mind. I hope that the next chapter has, with the Northern Lands, more of a European style. They could easily do Viking kingdoms such as Denmark of Finland, or they could also do, say Sweden during the 30 years war.

Ok Me have a theory Here. They say that they are finishing the quest that were not finished right. Ok now when they say that they meant Gwen. Now it obvious that Gwen did not go over seas so she was maybe brought up north where Chapter 4 is going to be. Now what happened to Gwen no one knows but she was there during the Charr invasion so it might be a really high chance the Charr captured here and raised her for 3 years to be their flame wielding Queen,<<<<Evidence In Town beta attacks of firestorm.....Why Fire? because Nightfall happened 3 years after the searing and Chapter 4 Might be the fourth year or fifth year after the searing. Now the Charr worship the Titans because they are related to fire which means that because they worship fire, the charr lives in the cold regions of the Tyria World and other evidence is that they are all FURRY, THICK FUR COATS, to keep them warm you know. Also Gray has said Binky spelling adventure plus Raindeer in the Winterday Event. Also why in the Hell Charr would worship the titans, will Chapter 4 explain how fire titans manage to live or appeared in the cold regions? (maybe a north pole active volcano idk) Also Right After Nightfall the God Dhuum was still alive and was roumored to be dead. Now from wat I read from wiki Dhuum followers are the ((Titans)) plus the Emissaries of Dhuum, Terrorweb Dryders, The Fury and etc. Now Dhuum and Menzies both worked for Abbadon and they are both Gods and because Abbadon is destyoed what happens now and what will their followers do?
But yea there is my idea I put together in one for Chapter 4 Story or what might happen. Anyone wants to add?

Let's get back on topic.
Since, chapter 3 tied up the 3 chapters, i don't think it is going to have anything to do with Abbadon and Darkness. I think we will be going to further in the region of Deldrimor *nudge nudge Northern Areas*.
Or I would love to see a story based aorund Maguuma and the Ullen river and then Mursaat. Hmm...
