Repeat of special weekend events

Now i thought they werent going back to previous chapters? well i think anet is already starting a repeat on premade event weekends. i bealive this was the first or one of the first they did so in theroy they will have another heros acent day and double faction day. did anyone else notice this

There simply isn't a large enough pool of numbers in the game they could triple and say it's an "event", so they repeat the old ones.

Personally, I have no idea why they are doing it at all...

HA test was an event. Double fame was an event. Dragon festival was an event. Triple green drops... eh... honestly, if they just stop doing the "change one number" events, nobody's going to miss them. Just do something exciting once a month and don't bother with the rest.

They should do a trial weekend! I want to get my brother playing, but there isnt no way for him to test the game out, like some other games

Two ways actually... use one of your friends keys or ask someone here to lend you one...

Or, let him create a character on your account whilst you watch him, better that you talk him through getting started and what the professions all do than learning on his own

i found nothing wrong at all with these "events" it keeps some people busy and some it doesn't.. simple as that

I don't really see an issue with the triple "X" weekend idea, not just because it gives me something extra to fiddle with when I have a weekend to relax (which is rare anymore), but because it just isn't a big deal. I wouldn't really call it an event, though; as someone said earlier, things like the recent Heroes Ascent Test Weekend are events, not simple changes like a triple drop rate of a boss' rare item.

I'd like to see them go back to Tyria myself. Not sure what they could offer, but as much as I enjoy the other two Guild Wars titles, I always find myself right back in Prophecies for whatever reason. No matter which continent my main character is, I tend to jump back over to Tyria for runs, sales, exploration (I've found that the best Screenshots I can take are to be had in Tyria, as far as environments go), FoW/UW, capping (no matter what my skill bar contains in it, I very rarely find myself without a majority of core skills and other bits that I've acquired in Tyria), etc.

But, of course, as someone else already said this is a great things for loading up your heroes with useful green items, which I'm all about. I hate buying them things, so if I can just go out and do a little work to pick one up they'll be all the better for it.

Yeah, i like these weekends, it give Snograt something to arrange guild outings around as he's useless at doing it...

Hi, Can I make a suggestion. All of GW's special events are on the weekends. I know the majority of the players are kids and have the weekends off...but some if us older players (30 somethings) need to work the weekends and miss out on all of the special events. Maybe they could put some special events during the week day.

I agree. When they do one that fits who I play, like the double xp for skill caps, I have a blast with it. When the do one that does not fit me, like this one, i ignore it.

Don't worry about repeat events or events that are "pointless" to you, just have fun with the ones you like.

I'm pretty sure that XXX weekends would bump their T for Teen rating to M for Mature.

I think this one is great as my rit, Jas Sa Renn, wants the Spiriteater. I tried for it last time they had the chance x3 weekend in Cantha, but the guildmate who was helping me out was obsessed with using a solo ele build so we'll just skip over that story.

And while I know she can get the same thing for kraken eyes from a collector, she's being very insistent about it being the "real" thing and has now gone on strike until she gets it. She also said that buying it was not in her budget - she needs her money for cap sigs.

maybe is what seems like happening should be starting the events on friday and running till sunday and make the event work for all 3 guild wars if it calls for it

i like the events... i want them to have anther double exp from elite skills >.< but that wil prob be a few more months...

I wish they would do big events like at the end of BWEs. I would give up a full month of double and triple whatever weekends for one day of something epic happening like Rotscale army in Lion's Arch. Watching 3 Infernal Wurms burst up from underneath Gaile was priceless .
