Are Elite missions even still worth it?
Morgana Silverwing
With the coming of Nightfall and the Domain of Anguish Elite mission, are the Canthan Elite missions even still worth attempting?
Is it still even feasible or even possible to get a ferry there only to find that the outpost is empty?
I sure wish that Anet gives us back the NPC that granted access to all. Just place him in the Imperial sanctum outpost, so that way it will be accessible to people who have nearly beaten the game.
And make them accessible to heroes/henchies, if a player is elite he is even “leeter” when he can beat the quests/zones with henchies…
Please read this Gaile/Anet and by the way thanks for a great game

I remember having parked my monk in Urgoz when NF started. I logged in a few times in the following weeks, spotting a total of 1(!) other person while doing so. Maybe it changed by now, but looked totally dead to me.

The whole crappy idea of having the top alliance on each side being the only ones capable of going there and bringing others is what screwed the elite missions from the start. Why don't they just stick a portal in Cavalon and HzH, it's the mission that should be hard - not getting there.

I also have mixed views on the ferry system, but I disagree that it's hard to get there. We tend to have people ferrying regularly, and for free. Plus you can always be ferried once then use the guild hall trick to ferry yourself and others.
Bon
Guild Hall trick, please explain? Thank you in advance

Let's say 4 members of your guild have already been in the Urgoz outpost.
You have a character parked there. You press G, then the "Guild Hall" button. You invite the 4 other guys into your party and press "Leave Guild Hall". It takes you back to the outpost you were in just before, in this case Urgoz' Warren.
This, however, only works on characters who have been there before. If you haven't been there before, the only way to get there is to get a ferry in HzH.

- Xeeron Try international districts. I find lots there.

Yup, but finding ferries is hell on earth, and the reason why the elites mission are a little quiet sometimes is mainly because people can't find ferries. I believe that the missions aren't the problem, Kanaxais edge and Urgoz' bow are still highly coveted and expensive. Chest drops are also worth the while (My entire ranger gear comes from Urgoz' Warren more or less). Hell even tomb of the primeval kings is still played, so why not the canthan elite missions. Please please pretty please aNet give us an NPC to ferry us there, I'm sure the top guilds wouldn't mind, why else would they ferry people free of charge?

Yes i do them sometimes urgoz under 1 hour, most runs are 2hours+ but IMHO its not worth the time

My warrior has a perfect Zodiac Hammer , a +14>50 Zodiac Axe and a Zodiac shield. - All obtained by my monk in "The Deep"
I'd really love to get a sword to complete the set but find it hard to get a ferry back into the mission
I'll sign anything that suggests opening access for all

I find Urgoz pretty deserted, even the international districts. There really aren't enough people to form more than 1 maybe 2 groups and every1 else misses out. I had my ranger parked there for 3 days and only got into a group once, which promptly died within 2 minutes.
The fact that I *have* to go to the International district to join a group says a lot about access to the mission.

Anet will probably never open these missions again. They're completely oblivious to what players want. Hell, how hard can it be to put back those npc's in kaieng that they once had. It's like the auction house feature, extra storage; all these things will come at the same time as duke nukem forever...

Went into the deep this weekend, had no troubles finding taxi, neither had others who needed access unlocked. Still grateful to the holding alliance, shows that we players can work around some crazy limits put onto the game by it's designers.
The guild hall trick is not enough to prevent to get useful grouping here for casual play, even by those who have done it before. You can't just drop in with any char, only a parked char, or you have to look for a taxi again. Though I saw some people get in there by taxi and looking for a group, these were usually clueless people who had completed factions and wanted to see the elite missions. Any organised group that does show up has usually been formed through guilds or friendslist, and those are sceptical of any pug.
If everybody who showed up had 3 hours to spare to collect anybody dropping in you could maybe fill a party, but would then take another 30 mins to get finally started and then the mission itself.
I think the current system makes casual play here impossbile, except for holding alliances, but where do they get the time to do the elite missions, they are busy faction farming.

Crazy and sad, the crazy part is some Alliance has around 40mil faction
and holds the "House", that is alot, when Factions was going strong the
holding Alliance was usually around 30mil........So WOW!!!!!!!!
But when they announced the green weekend, I went to the "House" and
Cavalon each day before the event and now after it and the places are
ghost towns, only over the green weekend was the place active.....
They really should open these up and then maybe those huge Faction
grinding Alliances will come over and play NF with us........j/k.........
have fun in whatever your heart desires.........
