New spin on storage
Pan Head
OK, I have seen a 100 threads on armor, key, dye and so on storage. but how about something like a home. Still have the same storage in the outpost like little banks as you travel. But have one place kinda like a guild hall, but account or at least char based that has a massave storage for it all. keys, dye, armor, weapons, mini pets and such. You would have a home to go to after all your travels. And just like at home you would have a place to keep all your stuff while you are off at work.

The decision criteria for feature to be added to GW is:
- How does it improve combat?
Storage and housing don't improve it in any way, so they don't get added, neither do auction houses, hairdresser, etc.

This has been mentioned before too(search feature isn't great for picking up older threads). What was usually said was that the Guild hall is home, though atm nothing special has been added to it pertaining to a personal storage space.
/signed for any new storage, whatever form it takes.
I would suggest though(without me repeating tons of ideas from other threads) that you try and focus on improving whats already in the game, rather than adding a new feature altogether. Though I'm no programmer, I would think it would be easier to attach something to a city or guild hall than to poof something out of thin air.
Maybe something in between the Nightfall Command Post and a Guild Hall?
But that's just my two cents

It would be the Ultimate Gold sink.
There could be different models, like Guild Halls, but much more smaller.
A dormitory, a living room, and a yard with the NPCs, like Xunlai Storage, Blacksmiths, Merchants, etc...
You would enter a house if the player is the leader and hits the 'go Home' button in the 'Character Panel' (H)
Once the first NPC the player would have there will be the 'Householder' NPC she can set the permissions to:
- Guild Member
- Guild Official
- Guild Leader
- Alliance Member
- Friends
- Guests
·Friends will be able to go to your home by using the Friends panel:
- Whisper, Block, Visit Home
Guild Member will be able to using the guild list.
·Allies would be able by getting in a party with someone that an get there or by using the friend list.
·Guests would be anyone else in a party with Allies, Guildies or Friends.
So if you have blocked friends but gave permission to allies, if an ally have you in the Friend list can get to your home.
People in a party with the player as a leader would always get to the house if the player go there regardless of permissions.
You'll be able to buy many other NPCs to the Householder.

You see, the reason why material storage is in the game is it takes up less data on A.net servers then regular storage. Regular old storage has to be able to hold a weapons skin, damage, mods, req, color, etc. Dye storage, Material storage etc only requires a number to indicate how many of those items you have in a slot (since red dye is red dye, and a scale is a scale, but a sephis axe could be a 15^50, an inscribable, a while hexed, req 11, req 9, etc etc).
Thus your suggestion doesn't really improve anything. If A.net could just up people's storage like that then it isn't like they "need" a house. The other thing is, people will always want more storage cause they always hole away more useless stuff they don't really need. If a.net doubled the size of storage, people a few weeks later would still complain and want more.

I love the idea. However, it will never happen. I'm a programmer myself and I know that developing something like this would be a huge huge drain on server resources for ANet and thus impossible to bring about.
It would be nice to have the option to pay for extra storage, but I know that a lot of folks in the community would oppose it. I'm thinking of something like a 1 time $10 fee for a closet. A closet would hold complete armor sets only and would be shared by all your characters and only accessible from your GH. 1 closet can hold 10 complete sets of armor and you just go to it when you need to switch out your set for a specific mission. You also have the option to expand your closet space for another $10 if needed.
Giving players more storage will require more servers with more memory for that storage. I know that another 10 slots doesn't sound like a lot to ask, but another 10 slots multiplied by millions of accounts adds up to a lot of memory to buy for Anet.

Sounds awesome, quite frankly. First thing i'd put into mine is a bathroom, the people of Guild Wars have been holding it in for about 3 years now...
