Macro bar for easier interface.

In many games, there are macro buttons that you can create for all of the slash commands in the game, that attach to the hot bar.
I would like to see a seperate skillbar that only allows macro commands to be placed in each slot. This way you could set up a button to invite a person as a friend or ignore someone without using the friend window, set up an /attack button so that you dont have to use a skill or try to double-click a moving target just to start attacking when using the tab key. I am sure there could be quite a bit more uses for this as well.
I think this could help reduce the clunkyness of the UI. As long as the macros do not support multiple tasks within 1 key, then it could not be used for cheating.
It would also be nice to see a few additions to the list of commands that are currently in the game. /stick or /follow could be usefull for following someone who knows where they are going on a long hike, an /attack command as stated above, and anything else that you can do with the UI but there is no command for would be nice.

Macro and Modding goes entirely against the philosophical underpinning of the game as stated by its developers on numerous occasions.
Having played WoW for 2+ years I would be lying to say I didn't like modding and macro-ing but it would have an extreme and negative impact on Guild Wars in very many ways. And, of course, I am no longer playing WoW.

I used to play the MMO "Anarchy Online", which had a remarkably good scripting and macro support. What he means isnt say, haveing macros as in bots, but macros as in a button you could stick on the screen that when you press it, it auto /dances or something...was VERY useful in some circumstances.

In DAoC /stick was a great way to literally stick to an enemy target and stay in melee range. It was great but not necessarily skillful.
Maybe the OP should consider getting the Zboard™ Gaming Keyboard.

Do you realize, that with /follow and /attack commands you can make a bot that clears an area for loot?
The bots already do it using AutoIt, which simply sends keystrokes to the client - all using existing GW functionality.
If you find yourself doing boring tasks (for example Barrage, Barrage, Barrage, Barrage, Barrage, Barrage), then the problem is with the build and the level of mobs you're facing, not "clunky" interfaces.
How does macroing help a mesmer who needs to keep 3 mobs in check, 1 caster, one healer and one melee, all while keeping an eye out for interrupts?
If a build can be macroed, it's best played by heroes. MM is a good example of that.

Where the hell did you people come up with these conclusions? You already stick to a target and stay in range just by clicking the target...with that aspect this game does not require nearly the amount of skill that other RPG's based on PvP require. At least they required you to click the stick macro I think some of you misunderstood what I said.
I even said that "if you only allow one macro per slot" I am not talking about having multiple commands executed at the push of a button...Teger knows what I am talking about.
I already have a Zboard...it is really not that great. Now back on topic without any more crazy talk of bots and Zboards.

I just wish they would change the Party Members window to look more like the one in observer mode. Except it wouldn't be transparent and you wouldn't be able to look at the opposite team's party window.

you might wanna try http://www.autohotkey.com/ . It is a very nice free app, which allows, among many others, to script remaps of keys. You can use it to map a key, or combination of keys, to execute the /*emote* command.
I personally use it to stop shift from opening the chat when i use shift+1~5. i use shift a lot for to prevent myself from moving and selecting targets, so you could imagine how often i open chat instead of using heals. also i made it to auto complete the pls, wtf, omg, gg so it writes: please, what the, oh my god, etc

This a great idea. a "hotkey bar" would really bring me back to the good ol days of anarchy. I really havent seen anything negative on this page that makes sense either. have the ability to click a button to attack instead of pressing spacebar really dosnt make bots any easier. i would love to see this in the game.
Emerikol
Exactly...alot of ideas get a bunch of negativity that makes no sense whatsoever, and many good ideas get trashed.
Macro bar for slash commands (with hopefully some new ones added) with a choice of how many buttons are on the screen FTW.

/attack is already in the game ... select a target and hit your space bar.
why would you want a button on your screen that you hit with your mouse when you can just tap a key on your keyboard?
