hey guys, ive been trying to log on for about an hour now, but every time it finishes loading the connecting to server popup i get this "Unable to initialise 3d output" message before it even opens the login screen, ive tried all the obvious stuff ( ie. rebooting my comp) but nothing seems to work.
any suggestions or fixes would be great!
thanks all

post your computer's specs. we can't help you unless we know.
also, make sure your graphic card (if you have one) got the latest drivers and dx9c.

make sure you have dx9c and the latest drivers for your graphic card.

Reinstall them. The error you are having usually is a result of a bad driver installation. If the drivers however are fully intact, try performing the test for your video card in the direct X diagnostics application. dxdiag -> Graphics tab
If you can't get it to pull up any of the D3d test and Direct x and your video drivers are installed correctly, the problem might be hardware related. A nasty thing to think I know but I had a similar problem at one time, and my gpu was toasted, hopefully that is not the case for you though. I would suggest attempting to reinstall your graphics drivers though to make sure everything is intact.

I had the same problem a while ago. Mine turned out to be corrupted drivers for my video card. Do a complete uninstall of your video drivers then a clean reinstall of the latest ones. If that fails I agree with Aeroclown that it may be your video card is going south. Hope you get it fixed.
