A/Mo-Any Reliable skill to start the famous fallimg spider->twisting fangs chain?
Backspace496
hi, im an a/mo, and i was wondering if there was a straight knockdown skill that can start up spider-fangs chain. do u really need to be A/E w/ Shock, cuz i like condition removal and a hard rez... some things that come to mind are bane signet or a hex+iron palm, but has anyone had good success with being an A/X and pulling of a spider-fangs chain? thx to all that reply for taking time to suggest.
Voltaire
Nothing immediately comes to mind. If you don't have Nightfall, then I suppose hex + Iron Palm would be manageable (PvEwise anyway). If you do have Nightfall, and are going to use a hex, you might as well use Black Spdier Strike instead of FS.
Utaku
[skill]shove[/skill] comes to mind.
For condition removal you can use [skill]signet of malice[/skill]
No hard rez, but rez signet is the best rez on an attacking class imho.

i do have nightfall, and yanman, wow, thats an amazing combo! except that it is 6 skills long. shove>falling spider>twisting fangs>moebius>horns is better and 1 less skill, but thats a/w... what i use now since i dont have an elite yet is: unsuspecting>fox fangs>horns of the ox>falling spider>twisting fangs, basically its the same as yours, but w/ no e-management... thanks 4 all the ideas!
by the way, i want these attributes...
DM-12,3,1
CS-12,1

the shove combo is deffo NOT better than the moebius combo. The moebius combo is scary but tbh I only run that combo in random/team areanas were teleportation isn't as essential. In RA it's amazing.
Pretty much all other situations I run a Shadow Prison build.

That combo is known as a Yanssassin. www.putfile.com/yanman or http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ferrerid=92302

Yanman.be, is MoI recharged by Moebius? I'm pretty sure it's not, but just wanted to ask and see. That said, it's a righteous build.
And to the OP, if you absolutely, positively must stay A/Mo, use [skill=text]Entangling Asp[/skill] or (less reliable) [skill=text]Bane Signet[/skill]. The recharges in both cases are long, but you could try using Assassin's Promise if your kills are reliable and it won't be an issue.
I'd recommend Entangling, but I put both out there for your consideration.

Oh and Sqube, Entangling Asp requires a lead attack...which kinda suck. I personally would hardly ever use a lead attack in any of my builds apart from if I'm running a Templesin (leaping mantis sting for cripple obvi )

true, true, but with that being said, read the text under where it says THE CAMPFIRE.

I suppose there's always . . . . Signet of Judgment *winces*
Man, it hurt just to say that.
If only the recharge was 10 seconds, this might actually be a decent skill, especially if they go through with the 1 second casting time buff.

lolz signet of judgement as my elite... thats disgusting... i hope they do buff it, cuz maybe then, itll be worth it to have the gold borders around it lol...
about the "Yansassin," i saw that post a while back, didn't you use shock in that build? anyhow, i love the idea of MoI followed by a quick 18 energy...
since i have zealous daggers and radiant armor, heres how it would work:
MoI - from 37 energy down to 27
BLS - 28 to 19, then add 18 = back to 37
TF - 37 to 29
FS - 30 to 26
HotO - 27 to 24
MS - 25 to 21, all atak skills recharged, move on to next victim...
***I estimated my 3 energy regen above, and all attack skills cost 1 less energy, duals cost 2 less***
it is the godliest build, and it only uses 6 skills, so i can add in mending touch AND rebirth, its amazing.
plz close this thread, and thank god for yanman.be

37 energy? That's alot. I use like 27 energy at most.

well if its for pve, the knockdown isnt so impotant as the poison so i would use the whole hex+black spider strike+twisting fangs thing...heres the build is use for pvp, but you obviously change it to suit pve...
15 dagger, 8 or 9 death, 8 shadow
siphon speed, black spider, horns of ox, black lotus, twisting fangs, moebius strike, shadow refuge/feigned neutrality, dash/dark escape/res
i love using dark escape+feigned neutrality for +80 armor and half damage at the same time. siphon speed is a great skill for a snare and escape.

Priest Of Sin
Simply put, Falling Spider isn't that useful to anything but an A/E (plenty of cheap KDs in there). Go buy Nightfall, get Assassin's Promise, and use Black Spider. Things in PvE don't even live long enough to get most combos off.

11-12 crits?
I personally always run 13 for the 3 energy gain. 8 is the next breakpoint of 2 so I would only use that if you don't want the 3 energy gain.
Then you can invest your points in summit else.
Oh and before you say "but I want higher critical hits!" Dagger Mastery gives you a higher chance of criting than crit strikes. So if you really want to use 11-12 Critical Strikes (remember I advise going 13 CS but that's obviously my opinion) you may as well lower your CS to 8 and putting you DM up to 16.

i use on my sin (not a/mo)
unsuspecting strike
wild strike
horns of the ox
falling spider
twisting fangs
that combo usually kills anything unguarded
i usually have as an elite flashing blades and always carry a res sig
when using a/e i use a shocking upgrade and conjure lightning
when using a/n i use plague touch
when using a/w i use burst of agression and use the elite where you cant be blocked or evaded (way of the fox?) and burst of agression
===
i like yans sin because its easy on the energy. maybe for spider hunting a prot bond/shadow refuge combo to and maybe another heal.
just a thought

the problem with assassins in PvE is that they suck. they are only good for 1v1 combat, making them shine in PvP. but in PvE, you have to get youur whole chain off and until u hit w/ moebius strike, youre a useless party member til ur skills recharge. this happens al ot, seeing as u have 8 members in ur party, and u wont be able to get off moi-bls-tf-fs-hoto-ms before ur target dies. even with shock, youll be at negative energy in no time. does anyone agree with me, or are there any ways to counter assassin uselessness in PvE. i tried ur build, yanman, and i got it off like 5 times in a whole mission... other than that i was just a wasted party member. idk why, but sins are a bit iffy.

Yup.
Yanman.be has been tooting his own horn for quite some time. The Yanssassin has been around for a while. When he first posted, I thought, great, I guy who so full of himself. Just look at that avatar. Anyway, over a period of time you'll see why he is (at least I see him as) an expert and very knowledgable when it comes to Assassins. So I no longer see him as a "know it all", but a knowledgeble person who shares his insights and findings with others.

Lol, Internet.
If you don't have nf like me the only choices to use falling spider are Mark of instability, horns of the ox, iron palm and scorpion wire.. or you can use entangling asp, which is pointless to use falling spider after as it does the same thing. For the two you will need to invest in some attributes in deadly arts.. which many see as a waste because they want to keep conditions going as long as possible/getting critical hits
You should try using possibly dark prison then iron palm, before doing the falling spider chain, but you will have to add as it's unlikely to kill. Maybe impale, and hope they give it a boost this weekend again. ^^

again, i do have nightfall, and i believe shadow prison is a waste of an elite AND its in deadly arts. guys, this is what im asking for:
i have all campaigns, all i need is a quick, reliable way to pull off twisting fangs in PvE, preferably accompanied with either falling spider or black spider strike. and then finish with moebius. i was thinking: MoI>black spider strike>twisting fangs>moebius. i believe this is ok for pve, as its only 3 attacks and u can pull it off. u can even add in black lotus strike for e-management and its still only 5 skills long. like this:
[skill]mark of instability[/skill]
[skill]black spider strike[/skill]
[skill]black lotus strike[/skill]
[skill]twisting fangs[/skill]
[skill]moebius strike[/skill]
[skill]feigned neutrality[/skill]
[skill]mending touch[/skill]
[skill]rebirth[/skill]
dagger mastery - 11,3,1
critical strikes - 12,1
shadow arts - 6,1
wat ya think?

If you're playing PvE, your monks have condition removal, so Mending Touch goes bye. Rebirth is a caster res, take a res sig. There goes your monk secondary.
I also question 2 offhands with only 1 hex that isn't recharged with your elite.
To tell you the truth, I'd rather use Black Spider->Twisting->Black Lotus->Blades of Steel. Use Assassin's Promise to renew everything and make up any lost energy. Mark of Instability will also be recharged, should you decide to use it.
Assassin's Promise also renews Feigned Neutrality. It also renews anything else.
If you're really bad at playing an assassin, you can take both FN and Dark Escape to gain an equivalent of 300 armor, renewed with every death.
If you only want to use Moebius, at least take a hex with a better recharge. You can then ditch Black Spider and take another more damaging dual attack. Twisting Fangs spam is very low damage.
The build you have posted will only be able to pull of 1 combo every 20 seconds, despite having Moebius as an elite.
Yanman, what do you feel about the changes to Impale? Worth ditching TF?

I don't think you can compare those 2. TF is a dual attack in se( and thus having all benefits/downsides of a melee attack ), and Impale needs to follow one. I guess it's nice in a Moebius Strke-Death Blossom-Impale in pve combo.
Also, TF triggers the deep wound by itself: First hit applies deep wound, second hit activates it. Impale still needs a hit after that.
