Obviously ANet is not bound to release campaigns at the same time every year, but it is amazing to me see how quickly time has flown by. It doesn't feel like NF was released all that long ago

My bet is that if we do not hear any news about Ch4 by the end of this week then it will not be released as per their "new chapter every 6 months" rule. But they could prove me wrong to, they might just be keeping very quiet about it.

For the previous two new chapters, ANet announced the game about 3 1/2 months ahead of release. Factions was announced in mid-January for end of April release and Nightfall was announced mid-July for end of October release. On that basis, the announcement is overdue if release is expected by the end of April again.

...and all of this has no bearing on when chapter 4 is released. They could announce it on Monday April 23 and release it "on time" on April 27 if they wanted to. Doubtful but whatever.

I doubt that it will be released on the same schedule, I remember reading somewhere that they were going to wait untill august to release chapter 4

Then eventually rotate the class' so that maybe in a year or so every class with have the same amount of selection.

I would not say that the august date was "wrong" information: it was unsubstantiated rumor, and has been declared as such by Gaile. However, rumors like this have been denied before, both by ANet and other companies, and been proven true. Of course, I'm not saying they're changing the timeline. Just that saying it's true or false isn't as accurate as confirmed or denied.

Don't mistake this for complaining about it being late. As long as ther is a Chapter 4 I'm happy. Right now they only thing we DO have as confirmed is that Chapter 4 is being worked on and has been since shortly after the Factions release.

I would have no problem whatsoever that this year would only see the release of one new chapter, if it meant that this chapter would surely be packed full with content and tested throughly before release. In fact, I'm kind of hoping this. But being a curious cat, I'd just like to know when that one chapter will be out!

I'd rather have Anet not make the deadline and delay the game for maybe 1-2 months and make the game complete w/o any bugs then have the game come out according to the whole "6 months" thing and have the game filled with problems, bugs, possible exploits, etc..

Now here me out here, I love GW and will buy all chapters until they stop making them and thats a promise.
But, try not to spread too much expectations like Factions got. It hurts the game at release in all sorts of measures.
It may seem small to nightfall to some, even huge to others but its there even so. Same happened to Factions, but Factions will remain the first glass the bullet hit. It took the entire force of 'fanboyizm' and let it fly past without any solid enough content to compare with the fastness of Prophecies.
So take the excited but not expecting an entire turn around of the game for Chapter 4 (even if that was the case). It does you, me and even Anet some good when everyone is surprised the good way and happy afterwards. Happy at start and ending sour from prior hopes kills everyone's experiences one way or another.

There concentrating on new content before they fix and balance the previous - before you all start crying out for chapter 4 lets concentrate on getting chapter 3 complete first.

Rushing product out the door, even though it bolsters NCsofts forecasts, has gotten us the mess we have now. PLEASE fix everything possible that is broken at the moment and then fine craft a really kick ass chapter 4. If not, I sure as hell wont buy another "beta" Chapter.

This is my opinion;
Make a HELL of a big expansion without missions or new professions. Only towns and quests. It will be big as Propechies, if not bigger. Make lots of bigg bosses, that you would need a team of 8 or 12 to deal with.. = no solo..
You can NOT make a new character in this game, or if you can, there would be a noob island that is only for newbs, as factions island.. You can make any profession if you have all games, or only core if you have only Propechies, i.e. In mainland all enemies will be lvl 24+.
You can see it as a whole expansion with only elite arenas, with lots of bosses, expencive armors and loads of new weaps. This would be a very succes for Anet, even tho its just a game you can buy in store, so no new players can't join... (cause it would have been boring for them)

. But I digress.My point in the original post, albeit very badly made (ok re-reading it I didnt make it at all, but it was my intent), was that you could find a "supposed" release date quite easily.
We can all sit and speculate, games review and retail sites can post purported release dates; but until A-net give official confirmation of the release date, then it's all just pie in the sky.
Personally I couldn't give a rat's behind when chapter 4 is released, so long as it is eventually released. Will I buy it? Definately, I'm enjoying the 3 chapters I have already and look forward to the next instalment.
Me, I'd rather be playing and honing my (currently non-existant) skills than speculating on this kind of thing.

I know, we don't want anymore persay. 12 Professions is like a certain special number or something. I don't see them stopping at the 10 we have currently, but 12 is just that sparkly number. This is my personal opinion how ever so don't go and say "OMG! 12!!!!" to anyone.
Now, Chapter 4 coming out like July/August/Sept. is honestly kind of cool. It allows them to do events liek the up coming New Years event, on top of other things.
It's all worth it.

Really? I didn't read all the posts but if chapter 4 really isn't coming out till july/aug/sept.. then I'm done. Been bored way too long... i don't think they're current model is set for such a long break. They should at least release one more with the intent on waiting almost a year. It didn't take long for them to break their "ever 6 month" plan...
