Visual Bowstrings on Bows?

Ok so I've always wondered why they can't put bowstrings on the bows. What I mean is the visual strings. Does it have to do with clipping or what not? They can have hanging down objects and strings on armor and other weapons why no bowstrings? It's always had me wondering and I would like to know if anyone here knows why they can't have them?

Any info would be nice.

It's not that they can't, it's that they don't want to. Adds more polys to the game, and ones that are really just there for superficial reasons.

even so, I wish we could see a string there.. or at least a quiver on all characters when they equip a bow (adds a respectable quiver to relate to that bow - as well as making it like Cape -> can be toggled shown or not).

Thats my wish.. Please

An idea just came to mind:

now to make it even more ez'er to make it happen check this out:

We already have bows with all the right positioning for the character to rip an arrow out to place along the bow and then pull, and free it to fly through the air.
Well, now consider adding a string that will fit all bows length's and move along the arrow as it's pulled back, let go (vibrates), then stops and can no longer be seen as we have it now. What you think? would it be too hard to add more to the already made arrow animation's graphics??

It should happen, I paid over $150 on this game, I WANT A VISIBLE BOWSTRING! lol. No but seriously it would be nice to see the bowstring with animation, it won't hurt my PC anymore than the lush beautiful world in GW has already.

P.S. For those wondering "$150?"; ~$50x3chapters=~$150

I'd also like to see animated bowstrings that relate to the element they are infused with. Although wouldn't a fiery bow string burn your fingers slightly?

No...
That's where rangers having high armor against ele damage comes in.

I suspect animating weapons like that would cause a performance hit, not to mention the work involved in producing the animation sequence for each bow type. Weapons are very simple in GW - pretty flat if you look at them closely and the only animation is the effects applied on some varieties.

What a load of rubbish! Do the effects on the FDS, IDS, Stormbow and Fiery Gladius cause you a performance hit?

i did notice that sometimes i would zone into an explorable area the rings on the stormbow werent moving...didnt cause me lag though.

definatley add quiver and bow string. ESPECIALLY the bow string! would it really cause that much trouble to add a little black line? the day i got guild wars i was in pre-searing and equipped a bow and instantly thought "hey, why isnt there a string there?". at least add the quiver, that would just make sense...then again that would clash with the cape and armor and all that nonsense. on each of my characters there is a damn glitch with the cape =/

Why would they? Effects aren't the kind of animation being discussed. None of the weapons in Guild Wars have any real animation (beyond being raised/swung etc). In fact, they're very low detail and quite flat when you look at them closely. You don't think the reason is performance related?
