Guild Wars and Vista?
Riceboi
Hello
I am ordering a new laptop from Dell. It looks like they only come with Vista home edition now, and no Windows XP.
Can guild wars run on Windows Vista? I remember reading something somewhere that said guild wars can't run with vista.
Has anyone run guild wars on their dell laptop with vista os? Any comments?
Thanks
Joe

PlayNC support says no, but I highly doubt it will stay like that for long. Give them a few months and I'm sure it'll be useable on Windows Vista. Maybe there's an accesibility mode for things that can only run on Windows XP. Not sure. I'm planning on getting a Windows Vista laptop from Dell too within the next couple of months, so I hope I can play GW on it.

Runs perfect look a few threads down

Yup, I am running it as we speak.
lightblade
GW supports vista but not dx10
Windblade Ionic Z
Works fine. No issues here.

Running great for me too.

Works sweet for me, only issue I had was with the 64bit version of vista, but the 32bit version is funky

I installed it but all my templates disappeared. Turns out it moved the templates directory to Documents/Guild Wars.

It works fine on Vista. I beta tested Vista and one of the things I was really concerned about was Guild wars compatibility. I think NCSoft is just playing it safe till they get their cert from Microsoft.

GW works on Vista, but there may be some bugs when running GW on vista and NCsoft just doesnt support vista yet and wont do anything about that bugs (i have no idea what bugs there are). Over a couple of weeks probally NCsoft will support Vista too

No bugs that I have seen. Any issues would be most likely due to hardware config and drivers.
Of course EAX doesn't work, but thats a known loss, due to changes in the way audio works.
