Superior Identification and Salvage Kits

What are they for?
I have a Salvage and Expert Kit and an Identification Kit.
Now, I have a rare Staff with 2 mods on:
Improves Casting speed using Divine Favor skills
Health +29
Armor +6 (vs phys attacks)

On another item, an Air Staff:
Energy +2
Health +24

Now, I want from both items, just the Health mod... +24 and +29, how do I get them?
Just salvage them with the Expert Salvage Kit? Or do I have to do that with a Superior Salvage Kit?

Expert Salvage Kit is enough(superior will do as well), but note that it's not certain that you get the mod you want, it may even be no mod at all.

Superior Salvage and Identification kits are basically the same, but Superior has 100 uses instead of 25.

as stated they are IDENTICAL except for convenience of more uses with superior (at higher cost/use)

I bought a sup salvage kit and i got both health mods !

i was wondering, i have an expert salvage kit and i want to get a 15^50 mod out of a sword how doi know it is a mod and that of i salvage it i wont get iron ingots.

you cant salvage damage mods, i.e. 15>50

nono lol i mean like a sundering mod 10/8 how do i salvage that when im not sure if its a mod or not?

I salvaged a staff yesterday for the 19% enchantment mod and got 16 wood planks

The mods you can salvage out add to the title of the weapon. For example: Sundering Long Sword of Fortitude- you can salvage out the Sundering mod, or the Fortitude mod.

I feel your pain... when I get items from SF it seems I'm almost guaranteed to get crafting items in place of the perfect mods. (I've lost perfect vamp, perfect enchant, and something else to this curse.)

i dont think u can salvage the mods from greens....
