By guildwars 2 i mean a completely seperate game eg new graphics cant continue with old characters etc ?

I know that More expansions will be added to the guildwars franchise. However how long do u think it will be till they release a "guildwars 2". I doubt they will keep adding expansions forever and they may not even make a new guildwars.

In principle, there's no reason why they'd need to do a "Guild Wars 2". Each chapter has an incremental update to graphics (which has caused some controversy when an update to exiting characters' appearances has left the player of the character thinking that the result was worse, but hey, it's better than having to make another character), so it's entirely possible that in a couple of years time we'll reach "Guild Wars 2" standard and never realise... until we go back to Prophecies and see how old the graphics there are by comparison.

I doubt they'll make a Guild Wars 2. Of course the next campaign could be considered GW2, guessing it's a whole new storyline.

Who says there will be a Guild Wars 2 where characters cant be used from previous games? That would be dumb...so many people would just give up.

I remember EverQuest updated the grahpics with its third expansion, Shadows of Luclin. The old zoned remained the same but some of them were revamped. Arena.net could do the same thing

well if there is a guild wars 2 you cant connect your character from one 2 it, thats why guild wars factions and nightfall are called expansions..............................

There would be no real reason for ANet to make a Guild Wars 2 within the current business model.
I suspect when they run out of air, land, sea and subterranean locations on Tyria, they will open up portals to other dimensions or planets.
But, that's not until Campaign 25 or 26.

there is no such thing as a guild wars 2 unless those 3 guilds go to war again dunno maybe thats the next chapter....but if it isent there cant be a title named Guild wars 2, each game is named for a reason and I think guild wars was named during the pre searing wars

I'd see no reason to make a sequel except for a massive overhaul on the game engine (even graphics don't need a whole new game to be updated - Nightfall improved graphics quite a bit while using the same engine).

And the Guild Wars were not 3 big guilds fighting an all out war...it was loads of guilds from Ascalon,Kryta and Orr fighting each other in daily Guild Wars.
Oh and this thread has nothing to do with lore.....
