I walked around and found this nice view in Farahnur. I thought the clouds look a bit strange so I took a screen. A few weeks later as i looked through my screens and I noticed that this looks like a very very very large mountain. Ridiculous, such a huge mountain is never mentioned anywhere in the game. Maybe its the canthan version of the fujiyama or something like that^^What do you think?

If it is the Shiverpeaks then...God damn, Tall Mountain is Taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall!

Correction: That isn't the Shiverpeaks, if you look at the Elonian World map, you will notice that the Shiverpeaks is north of the location not North-west. Nor does it belong to Cantha because Elona is North of Cantha. That means that mountain belongs to an unknown island.

The mountain is also visible from Jahai Bluffs (and presumably the rest of Kourna)

Does it move? If it does, then it is just a cloud that looks like a mountain. If it isn't then it can't be the same mountain as the one in the OP's picture. The only mountain that can be viewed from Jahai Bluff's is

It doesn't move. The mountain you marked seems to be the right direction from jahai, but from farahnur it doesn't match. So maybe it is "a graphic commonly used for far away mountains"?^^ But in this case the mountain you see in Farahnur must be on an other map, which will be clear if you compare it to the distance from Jahai to the marked mountain.

Impressive mountain, but I wouldn't be looking at maps to see which mountain it is. Most likely it's just a common sky texture they use and it behaves just like the one in Kaineng, where you can see city buildings in the distance even when you are looking at the open sea.

*winds up the rumor-mill*

Thats the magic floating mountain where Chapter 4 takes place. It appears every 1000 years and guess which year this is? =)

You are probably right it seems liek an important mountain that keeps on poping up. Maybe it is the mountains which are going to be in the Norse mythology storyline of the fourth book as everyone is saying.

It is not photoshopped. Here it is from another area of The First City.

Also, the mountain can't be the Shiverpeaks.

That's the general direction the mountains are, and as you can see it's quite far from the Shiverpeaks. Pure speculation here, but the mountain could be from the land north of Tyria. If the rumours that GW4 will take place in the lands north of Tyria, maybe we're looking at a Norse theme afterall.

okay here's a spin of things and i'm not sure if i'm right either since i have yet to find him there myself (though there are confirmed reports of it..)

if any of you had visited the thread about Bahltek, he's an npc that mysteriously pops up in 4 locations on the island and he pops up in the hidden the city. i'm wondering if it this could tie into that mystery (as someone in the thread had posted about and hence referred to this thread) because i think Bahltek actually faces in the general direction of that mountain, if that mountain is not some random graphic. and if so...well dang o_O

(i know what Taala is talking about in terms of the city texture in the sky in kaineng and raisu palace when it's just sea)
