Sacrifice skills decrease the health. They are always according to the caster's maximum health. My question is what in fact is maximum health?
20 lvl char basic health is 480. I assume it is also maximum health with no mod. Now, what if I put rune of superior vigor- is my max health 530? But more important, what if I put rune of superior Death Magic? Does this rune decrease amount of my max health, or does it only influence my current health level?

If you put let's say three Superior Magic runes on your armor your health will drop by 225HP, since 3 Sup runes at -75 HP each subtract 225 HP from your base HP (480)resulting in 255HP
Add a Sup Vigor to it and your HP will increase to 305 again.
The situation will decide what you need to do but a common way of doing things is to get a headpiece for every magictype and stick the according Sup rune on it.
That way you always have one maxed attribute without loosing too much health.
This is of course all dependant on situations as i said.
In certain situations it's better to have low HP and other it's better to buff it up.
If you need to do a lot of sacrifice and you have a way to regain the health lost it's best to go with a lower HP. sicne it's a percentage you sac and not a fixed amount. 20% from 480 is a lot harder to recover than 20% from 180 for instance.
Skills like Demonic Flesh (Blood Magic) or the Warrior's Endure Pain give a temp boost in HP.
Also there's loads of monk enchatns that can boost your Hp up to an insane amount. max Hp's of 4000

Sorr, this not what I'm asking for . The only thing I'm interested in is the difference between max and curerent health level. Once again: if I put rune of superior Death Magic, will this rune decrease amount of my max health, or will it only influence my current health level?

Most people float around in gvg with around 600 health. In TA/RA/HA it's less. More like 500.
In PvE you can often get away with a lot less.
There is no theoretical maximum. With equipment only there is, I think it's about 680, but with skills as well the possibilities are limitless. You can have Symbosis and an infinite number of enchantments for instance. There are pics of people having over 10.000 health.

f.e.: Lingering Curse:
Elite Hex Spell. Sacrifice 10% max Health. Target foe loses all Enchantments. For 8...18 seconds, target foe gains only half Health from healing.

So if I have sup curses rune my current not max health will be 405 hp? Then why do I lose 41hp instead of 48 (10% max should be 48)?

You misread.
Adding a superior rune to your armor lowers your health by 75. so that makes your MAX HP only 405.
Your current health is the amount of HP you have at any given moment.
Should you get hit by a 200 damage spell for instance, your HP will lower your MAX HP to 205. The 205 is your CURRENT HP.

Next time just use wiki's explanation of game mechanics first instead, coz i feel it's not working

"maximum health" is your current total amount of hp.

I'll add more examples:

Example 1:
Max Health = 480. Current health at full health is 480.

Damage taken by monsters = 400. Current health is now 80. Maximum health is still 480.

Using Blood Renewal, sacrifices 25% health for health regeneration. 25% of 480 = 120 points of damage. You only have 80. End result is you die by this spell.

Example 2:

Maximum Health = 55 (you decided to become a 55 Necro). Current health at maximum health is 55.

You have Protective Spirit on you, covered by Watchful Spirit. You are hit by a boulder from an Giant normally for 100 points of damage (lets say). Protective Spirit will only protect you from damage that is upto 90% of max health.

You will then suffer 55 x 10% = 5.5 damage, but rounding up, 6 points of damage. Thus your new current health is 49.

Your current health cannot expand beyond your maximum health. Runes, spells and nature rituals can affect your maximum health.

I know in the past it was said that if you 55, then put on Protective Spirit, you can get 10 times before you die (the 11th time will kill you), but I've noticed that it seems to round up for me lately.
