trying to farm this bow. any suggestions?

I was trying to farm this bow [wiki=big]Emeju's Longbow[/wiki]
last night for my new Ranger. I must have killed [wiki=big]Emeju Longlegs[/wiki] 15 times and did not get it at all.

Am I just unlucky or is something missing from Wiki? Like are you supposed to do this in the Mission rather than in the explorable area?

I am running an Ele/Nec and I take my henches/heros to clear the way to the boss then flag them away till they are gray. I use an Earth build using
[card]Earth Attunement[/card][card]Glyph of Elemental Power[/card][card]Stoneflesh Aura[/card][card]Sandstorm[/card][card]Ebon Hawk[/card][card]Stoning[/card][card]Obsidian Flame[/card][card]Plague Touch[/card]

A big problem I have is trying to deal with all the poison I am getting nailed with from the bosses companion spiders. I use plague touch to get rid of it but with the very next hit its back on me. I usally cast my preps, take out the healing Grub Lance first, then target the boss with my earth spells while trying to keep up with putting the poison I get on to the boss with plague touch. Am I missing a better, more productive way to get the poison off me?
Most of the time I kill the boss before they kill me, but sometimes my timing or something is off and I am toast.

Any tips/tweaks/suggestions for what I am doing? I tried the E/A build but I am not that great at it and the Sliver Armor always seems to target the lesser spiders no matter how close I am standing to the boss.

I know that its a low level bow and I could probably find a better one, its just my weird obession to be able to get this bow

Drops are random and it does not necessarily mean that you will get the green from the boss, maybe you just hit an unlucky streak.

Once question though, why do you need this bow? its not even max.
If you have a level 20 (your ele is) then just get one of the max greens or a collector bow that is 15>50. much better than this bow.

I used the Famine build. Worked quite fast. Also there are some SS builds (spiteful spirit, not the sandstorm

)

Getting the green is just pure luck, sometimes you get it after a few runs, sometimes after more.

I'd put Aura of Restoration in there instead of Plague Touch. Poison doesn't need to be removed as you will get it back as soon as you remove it. Healing it might be better.
If you don't trust that method you could always switch to Dervish with Mystic Regeneration...

I want the bow for my beginner Ranger (lvl 3). I also think the skin is pretty nifty

I guess my luck for this is rotten. I went for [wiki]Lord Onrah's Sword[/wiki] to put on Koss and got it the first time!

I shall try healing through the poison. I had thought of it, briefly, but somehow got stuck thinking about transfering it off of me and onto the boss. The damage the boss takes from it is minimal so I suppose there is no point in doing so

If you have hench's (Don't know about heroes) you're drops are going to be less so that may be a factor.

I was told that if your henchmen are far enough away from you, where their names turn grey on the party list, that they do not share in your drops. Is this not true?

idk, i would suggest just trying over ... and over >_<

i got 2 scar eaters in a row, then none ... and then i stopped cuz it was boring

Just did 7 more runs tonight and so far....no green bow. The boss either drops a blue or white bow but nothing else

Edit: Nevermind....8th run is the charm I guess. Obsession completed...now on to another one lol

15 times isnt that much. it gets depressing trying to farm a shield and doing 60+ runs and not getting anything. then the green weekend comes and you get 2 in 10 minutes.

farming for 60+ runs consecutively is pretty stupid, the size of the anti-farm hole you got yourself dug in won't be easy to get out of

Hi!

If you go with heros/henchies and kill other stuff aswell you won't trigger antifarm.

Try going as E/D get mystic regeneration, put 8 in earthprayers and put in another enchant (i.e. armor of earth) in your skillbar, this will not only counter the degeneration from poison but also heal you when necessary...

Just as a tip.
