Anyone else use their real name in GW?

For my first character, I used my real name.

How many other players out there use their real name in GW? Is using your real name pretty lame? I'd delete the character... but then I'd have to wait longer to see what we get for 2nd birthday!

but seriously, it's up to you. I honestly prefer unique names that someone created than to use something like Rob Thomas or something like that. Because think of it this way, you see someone with a name like Astro Pubes you wont forget that name, I've had people in groups that have grouped up with me before many months ago and they go, LoL I remember you!!!! We did such and such Mission/Quest together. Heck, once I grouped with a guy in HA that I did Urgoz with 6 months ago and he remembered me, and I remembered his name as well. So I honestly believe that the more unique a name is the more you'll be remembered by it.

It's honestly up to the person I think; I dont make characters with my real name, but I've shared my name with all my guildies and we call each other by first name. I think it's more fun to create names that are diiferent then who you are, yet represent yourself somehow.

I name all my characters my real name with something added depending on proffesion(Mitchel the Cleric, Mitchel the Mystic)

I've never used my real name (unless the provider was auto assigning part of my name). I usually carry my nick through games, like my GW characters are based off the first char I made in WoW, a Tauren.. I just had to try it.

Zed is a bit of a family nickname. I use that added to something for all my character names.

I use The Zed for just about everything though. Zed may be the family nickname, but The Zed is my way of personlizing it.

Honestly, I dont really care much for people in GW knowing my real name (unless its a friend), But I have seen many people in the game that use their real name...Actually I have seen Astro Pubes before

Nah, I don't use my real name - making them up is so much more fun. It is, after all, a game so why not make up an interesting name instead of using your own?
Not to mention the sad people who would use your real name to do some nasty pooter stuff...

There is no security problem as long as you don't tell people in-game that it is your real name.

Yeah I gave up rappin with Wu Tang Clan and gave it all up to play GW full time. If you ever see me, the wiza, in game stop me and we can pour out some of our forties for the ODB.

No. Some of my guildies and in-game friends know my given name, but they all call me Maya anyway. IRL, I will answer to my given first name, a shortened nickname of it or to my main character's name of Maya.

i dont use my real name, all my char ( not including PVP) are called Hut something or someting Hut. Hut was a name i got for myself in school, and it was the first thingk i coudl think of. and also if i see a song name i like, current oen is Benjamin Breeg, form iron maidens new album, then ill pick it, also i dont think oliver woudl go well ingame

I dont use my real name... not for security purposes but because... whats the fun in that? I want to play a fantasy game, I want to be a fantasy person. =)

What really makes me laugh though is that several of the people I play with, I used to play EverQuest with years ago and they still call me by my characters name from there. =)

Meh, I never use my real name in games. I mostly use the nickname people gave me in real life, i.e. Tact.

as for real names no i dont....it may seem like it for some...shalrac sanchez or issac mendez (from heros (on NBC) of coarse lol) but using my real name is out of the question...people who only use first or last names i think that fine

Imbalanced Was Izzy is my real name. My parents were very foreseeing and predicted I would one day in the future like a game called Guild Wars.
