I started playing online games in 1999. It was a cute little game called Rage of Mages. Everyone could enter a map and everyone knew each other. There was no protection at all so soon some players walked around in hacked gears. No one cared. When a pker entered a map everyone called 'the others' and we had a pk-hunt. Age? There were 12 year old kids and guys older than 50. It was no problem, just fun.
2. Age discrimmination & elitism.
Many players feel they are too good for parties with schoolkids. Reading the forums I also notice lots of answers which basically say this: 'if you want (....) than you don't understand the (our) game' 1000 Opinions and its always the same small group of people who claim they are right.
3. PvE players are not organized
In PvP its common to communicate about builds and talk things over. In PvE its not. Even in guilds you hardly see parties doing PvE missions. Probably because you don't really know each other.
4. The fun parties are those with friends
Friends from real life and those you know for years from other games. How many of you have 5 or more real friends in the game?
5.The Spirit of the age
Today, young people are multitaskers. They perform many things at the same time: Playing a computer game, watching tv, answering a cell-phone call. They are used to do things quickly for a short period of time. They often lack concentration for long online sessions, e.g. for doing hard missions. They loose interest very quickly. They hob from game to game. How many inactive players are there in your guild?

I'm going to quote you by number because my head is aching after trying to find 200 photos on a 5 year old mac.
1: I agree that this game is very big, but I don't mind it. I started gaming about that time, when I was about 10. I played a game called 'Ashen Empires' (formally known as Dransik). There was 2 servers, one pve other pvp. About 50-100 active players per server(depending on peak times).
It was such a fun experience knowing everyone; and having 'top pvp guilds' ect.
2: I have one thing to say to those who refuse to party with young people(and I do not intend to sound biased)...Look at me for example-I'm 14, and I moderate Guru-and have done for nearly 2 years-since I was 12 years old. I'm not bragging or anything, but try to look at it this way-Do you really think I would have became a moderator if I was stereotyped as a so called 'kid who has no idea how to play games or appear mature?'
If one thing happens involving a young guy/girl who made a mistake, then it's human nature to blame that bad incident on something you can pick on.(Which in theory is a cause for racism). If one young guy or girl does something bad, then they will more than likely tell there guild-and then there guild will spread the word among friends if it happens to them; ect ect.(Stereotyping people).
3: I utmost agree. From personal experience; PUGS seem very unorganized.
Sometimes they can get the job done; other times they can't. I tend to disagree on the guild part. If you join a guild who prioritizes PvE; then you should expect to be organized in PvE-for example discussing tactics prior to mission. If you are in a mainly PvE guild and you just go in randomly then their is something wrong unless you just need the mission finishing. I have the same view on PvP; if you are referring to GvG.
4: I agree but with some different aspects. If you make good friends in game and know each other quite personally (by means of Ventrilo/Teamspeak) then you can have just as much fun as if playing with RL friends. Also alot of people use games as an escape from reality-so you don't have to worry about getting bitten by your RL friends for something you done/said in game.
5: Alot of people can multi task-it's a fact.... but personally if your planning to multi task whilst playing hardcore GW then my advice to you is to play a single player game where your actions RL do not waste time/put bad fortune of fellow players in your party.

I hope I've stretched my points enough..I'll keep an eye on this thread in case anyone wants to discuss the above.

Hehe..no problem. It's great to see a fellow beta tester still around (= Were you there from day 1 of the betas? If so can you remember your character name then? I may recognize you, I stagged around in Pre-Searing Ascalon(City version not current version) when not constantly remaking different character classes to test out which I found best
Thanks.
