Agree, they buff power attack to make it powerful. How about the same for power shot?

Or look at [wiki]Crossfire[/wiki] compared to [wiki]Power Shot[/wiki]. 5e less, 2r less, and you're only trading 5 damage for it being unblockable if your target is near one of your allies. Power Shot is completely pointless as it is now.

Power Shot always was pointless. Precision Shot had its uses, but that is equally as worthless now 5e and 2s more than Crossfire, EASILY INTERRUPTABLE and can't be blocked... having someone near the target is extremely easy to satisfy.

Agreed.Warriors Power attack gets buffed , and so should power shot. , i and others requested this last weekend skill change and get ignored. oh well.

I think with the nerfing RaO into oblivion is also a way of forcing rangers to use bows , however bows are pretty poor as far as raw dmg goes, so idk.

power shots just a symptom of that.

A couple things..first, what does buffing power attack have to do with Power shot? Nothing. The names are similar, and thats it. -.-

Don't kid yourself, Rao was imbalanced. At least in 4v4/6v6.

All that aside, 2 sec recharge for Power Shot or something.

But yeah, instead of nerfing commonly used skills, they should buff the underpowered ones.

It would be best at 5 energy and say 5 or 6 sec recharge sure Rangers do get more energy and with expertise it may help but eventually Warriors turn to adrenal skill instead.I use all adrenal.

The basic concept is the same... they both do extra damage. The only difference is for some stupid reason Power Shot costs twice as much energy and does almost half the damage.

Nobody said it wasn't a bit overpowered... But nerfing it to a point where it's now so useless it'll never be used again was pointless.

2s recharge? This skill could have a 0 recharge and i wouldn't use it. Not at 10 energy a shot.

Power shot has alot of lag to, it really makes alot of sense to buff it.
It cant inflict status condition, its easily evaded or blocked.
Power shot has No special status, so it makes plenty of sense if they buff it damage output wise.

Power attack and Power Shot are unique because the +dmg is added to the base dmg of the attack, and therefore reduced by armor, rather than armor ignoring like every other attack skill bonus in the game. This makes it even crappier.

Listen, there have to be skills in the game that are crappier than other skills. If you buff power shot to a higher level than other marksmanship skills, people will complain about the "noob" skill being more powerful than all the other skills.

It's the most basic bow attack. Leave it a noob skill, use the other skills when you get them.

Actually, they don't do that, at least not when I tested it a year ago. SonOfRah's damage article made the claim about Power Attack/Shot, but I found that all Strength, Tactics, and Expertise-based attack skills used their attribute value instead of the weapon attribute value - for example, when you used Power Attack with an axe, instead of using 16 axe mastery to calculate axe damage, it'd use 10 strength instead. But that was changed in an update before Factions, so now they all use the correct values.

Anyhow, the +damage is armor-ignoring.

It's true Power Shot has just been this thing to pad out the skillbar in pre-searing.

The thing is, even if it did +4 to +6 more damage than Screaming Shot, it wouldn't be a "better" skill. There is poo, and then there is poo you can see clearly is poo from the moment you start playing a game.

Not asking for this to become a viable skill, asking for it to have some reason to exist. Power Attack was as good as having an empty skill slot before.

I dunno, what's the upper threshold on +damage from bow and spear skills?
