Hello Internet,
In an effort to increase the amount of TalkingToNoobs (TTNs) being submitted to TalkingToNoobs.com, we will be holding a contest that ends February 23rd. The TTN with the highest rating by that date will win 50,000 Guild Wars gold and a custom name style on the site, for display in Comments, Private Messages and TTNs.
For full rules see www.talkingtonoobs.com/contest.php
So get out there and take screenshots of people saying or doing really dumb things!
Admin Edit: I'll allow this post as an advertisement for your contest but the community cannot post their screenshots on this site. We do not allow the posting of screenshots of in-game characters names without their permission.

Ah yes, now here's a contest that should really raise the level of discourse in GW. It's a good thing screenshots can't be Photoshopped and sentences can't be shown out of context. Then again, I'm sure no one would go out of their way to try and make someone they didn't like look bad, anyway, so no reason to worry about that. Besides, they're all 'noobs', a term used only by the sophisticated and discerning, so it's all good.
But, just as an aside, isn't it against the rules of this site to post screencaps with names without people's expressed permission?

Vin is cool.
Have you tried talking to some of them? You'll probably also be bashing them within five minutes.

I wonder how many people thought the many things that we take for granted was noobish and foolish untill they where proved wrong. But hey bash away because it always comes full circle in the end.
Are you carebears seriously that naive? Take a look at those screenshots again - most of those people don't want help, and will insult you for trying. Attempting to educate anyone in GW isn't just a waste of time, it's masochistic. The only thing you're going to get for your trouble is verbal abuse, so why would you even bother?

And yes, that happens, but maybe 1 in 5 people are like that, i know its alot still, but hell, its worth it to find those 4 that actually want to learn the game and play it properly...
Damnit, even though there are so many people like that though, i still only have one person on my ignore list, after nearly 2 and a half years, i think thats pretty good
You should revise your "1 in 5" statistic, Lonesamurai. Out of those 5 people, 4 of them will either cuss you out for trying to help them or insist that Mending is the best skill in the game, and the remaining one will be afk.
Seriously, GW players aren't worth the effort. Anyone who wanted to learn would have done so already, either by getting on a forum like this and reading/asking questions, or by watching observer mode. I used to be a nice person in-game, but that stopped a long time ago after I realized that nearly everyone I met was an asshole.

Albeit, it seems like noobs in pve areas are more receptive to teaching.
There's nothing wrong with this contest, I think it's hilarious... Lonesamurai, you've had good experiences with talking to ummm... newbs. Burst has had mostly bad ones (I'm in this camp as well). There's no reason either of you are wrong.
I used to try to give lengthy help and advice to people I met in the gameworld about their builds or their playstyles, but I gave up long ago out of frustration. The extent of my advice these days is "get more damage" to a w/mo, or "healing breeze is a bad skill, check some forums to see why", etc. This contest is a celebration of people who are new to the game and say things that experienced players get a kick out of. Nothing wrong with that, when I was new I had some ideas and said some things I'm still laughing about to this day.
