DEADLY slow loading

Hi, i just reinstalled Guild Wars after about 6 months and when i started to load into Heroes ascent it took 10 minutes for 15mb And not even 1% finished. It was still 0%


Is there anything i can do to change this or do i have to wait for it all to load?

Your gonna have to DL ALOT of update, do it when you go to bed.

It's because you have installed the oldest build of Guild Wars from your CD. Your client has to download all the updates since the release of the CD (which is alot). Add the -image tag to the end of your shortcut and let it download the latest build. (it won't actually load the full game, just the window)

Unfortunately, ANet's Download servers aren't the quickest, hence the slow download, although, try -image and let it update everything, the client works better and downloads faster if you let it do it at the client start than ingame

There's a weekend event happening that's probably why people are getting slow downloads right now. It's the same every event since more people seem to be on at these times + lots more downloads all going on at once, and no doubt people doing -image etc.
