Just wondered if anyone changes their builds depending on the mission they're going to take. I don't mean things like FoW or the UW, just normal game missions. Reason I ask is that I've almost finished NF with my Paragon using the same skills I've had from the start (apart from one elite I added about a 3rd into the game). It works for me but wanted to know if people found it easier if they set their skills specifically for the coming mission?

Do you change builds for different missions?

I play mostly as warrior/x and like to tweak my builds every time i get into new mission/area or just for experimenting. Frequently changing a secondary profession (i work on skillhunter title, so changing it a lot) too adds a little fun with creating new builds and testing it on encountered mobs.

Yes, fairly often, but usually it only means changing a skill or two if I'm still serving the same basic function. Ex. Bringing both Shields Up! and Watch Yourself! when there are lots of enemy archers around, not using Shields Up! in areas with no archers. Other times it may mean switching my whole skillbar, secondary profession, etc. Ex. Switching roles as a necromancer from MM to SS to battery to wells to orders depending on the area I'm playing and what the party needs.

It depends on the mission/area and what character I am playing at the time. For the most part though, I do have a general purose build for each of my characters that will get me through most areas of the game along with many specialized builds that I use. I do enjoy swapping out skills rather often and will be doing that frequently after this skill update.
I only switch my elite and 1 or 2 skills depends on the build i play and how it work with the other monk. The weird thing that i always play in PvE with ''PvP'' builds. For example i did Nightfall with a Blessed Light Mo/A and Factions with an Boon Prot but i never used build to counter foes...
And i won't stop playing Blessed Light Mo/A in PvE

I do switch skills on missions, but this also depends on profession and team.
The only character I keep switching on is my mesmer, but my current illusions build seems to work quite well on all enemies.
On most professions I have a couple of templates I switch.
Within those templates, I change only one or two skills. For example, I have a 'broad head' template on my ranger, but when I switch the elite to barrage it's also a nice build.

I change my builds all the time. Heck, for me half the fun in GW is making up new builds. Of course, I'm always wary to bring new builds into a group enviroment, so I run them through some basic tests on the pvp island thing. Then when I go to a PvE mission, I choose which one I think will do the best and have at it.
The builds I run almost always have skills I consider optional. So I'll always mod them when going on certain missions. It's like not bringing shields up! on Ruins of Morah mission... that skill just makes that mission cake ^_^
