Unlocking Skills
Markrids
Now, I consider myself a bit of a perfectionist and I was thinking about unlocking all skills. I then thought, why dont all my characters have all their primary profession skills. But then I realised
A) I wouldn't have enough skill points on all my characters
B) I wouldnt have enough Money
C) I couldnt be bothered playing ALL my characters through ALL campaigns to get skills.
Does anyone have a solution to these problems?
Thanks

Do what I started doing. Go to the little pvp training place and farm a little balth faction.
Or if you actually like pvp then get into it more and you can unlock skills even faster.
I hate pvp but I didn't want to have to wait until I get to the end of the game to access a skill when I only just got to the starter island.

My Ranger, Warrior, Ele, Monk, Paragon and Dervish PvE characters all have all the skills of the primary profession unlocked - I spent 45k the other day on the paragon and dervish unlocking the last skills.
My necro has all the skills except jagged bones which I unlocked early through the training arenas for my heroes and I would never use it on my own character.
My Assassin and Rit have all the elites from factions unlocked but not all the other skills and are just about to start nightfall.
I haven't got a Mesmer yet, but have unlocked all the elites and a lot of other skills using mesmer as a secondary profession.
Personally I'd rather spend money on unlocking the skills than on 15k armour.
But it does take a fair amount of effort to play all the characters through each game - but then playing through PvE with my guild is what I enjoy.

Smile Like Umean It, it works both ways. There's skills only available at the end of a campaign which can be easily bought with an easily obtainable 1k Balthazar faction. I understand your point-though. To the OP- I suggest mixing PvP and PvE(Prophecies to be specific-skill rewards as quests). You'll be surprised how fast skills end up unlocking.

Yeah, it took me 2 months to go through Nightfall on my first character because I spent a lot of time PvPing to unlock skills for heroes and the new classes. As a result, I've fewer than 10 skills to go before hitting that very vaunted UAX again.

Play a Ranger and a Necro. You can abuse their energy management primaries with most skills from the other classes. My ranger has a ton of skills from sin, warrior, dervish, and paragon (mostly spear here). If I had a necro, it would run monk, rit, ele, and mes, and just reap off the numerous mob deaths in PvE to run any kind of outlandish high-cost bar. Run through factions quickly getting masters on everything, also the dumb quests in the bazaar are another fast source of skill points, between that and masters NF missions plus the skill quests in prophecies, you will have quite a lot. Avoid 15k armor, sell your Amulet of Mists, Book of Secrets and such, and you won't have to farm for your skills either.

Yeah, skill unlocks are my main expenditure. Most of my characters, while fun to play in their own right, exist mainly as mules to increase the skill point pool through quests and missions. I would rather farm gold than Balthazar faction, but it's slow going

unlocking skills has never been easier

My account has all the skills unlocked through various means (Balth faction, individual characters etc).
Now my goal is to have all the skills on one character. My elementalist currently has 398 skills left to learn which is 35.1% of the skills left. I've been farming the Droks trolls for XP as every two runs nets me a skill point plus a little gold.

my husband did it this way.....made a w/mo, e/n, me/r, a/p and d/rit so with only 5 characters he has all the classes covered....the first three have all there primary and secondaries unlocked while the last 2 are still working on the newest skills (and capping elites). So that unlocks all the skills.
then to get more skill points.......lots of time in fow redoing the same couple of quests (5k and 10K) and when you cap skills you get 5k xp......and with the new treasures in elona you can get some extra cash pretty quickly.
Neither of us has changed secondaries (with the exception of the d/rit who couldnt get /rit so had to start with /mo and changed over and the a/p who just wanted to unlock all the paragon skills).

Well, if you get everything right away then what's the point in playing? I personally have no need to get all skills for all classes cause most of em I will never use...I have over 100 skill points on each character since they did missions on all 3 continents, which gives you more skill points.
And yes it takes some time to collect the cash needed but as you play longer it will get easier.
My only grievance is that you don't have the option in the new continents to get skills by completing quests as you do in Prophecies.
The devs noted that they didn't want to enforce builds and buy having the skills rdy to be bought people would have a wider range/choice. And in prophecies and ele was forced to start of as a fire ele pretty much.
I just don't know why you couldn't do both...Have the skills for sale and have the option to gain them with quests, at the cost of a skill point only. Your choice...

I use pvp points for unlocking the skils i don't use myself, but i make it a point to get every single elite skill myself. Gotta love the floating 5000.

Oh, another lil trick guys... I have all three chapters, but i also bought all three PvP unlock packs aswell
The Reason? now if i start a new character, i can go straight to a skill trainer and buy a skill bar straight away, all i need to do is go and cap the Elites, but too be honest, only 2 of my 6 main character use an elite on their bar and all of them always run with 2 Cap Sigs and all but one always has a Res Sig or a hard res... none of my PvE characters use all 8 skill bar slots, except my ranger when i know there are no elites, then i run Charm Animal and Comfort animal and bring out 'Bob' the Black Moa
