A Bug with IW?

Hey everyone, first post of the boards. I thought I should throw something out here to be looked at regarding Illusionary Weaponry. I've been running a Mo/Rt smiting build in RA lately, and it's been going great, but when I ran up against IW builds, I'd get slaughtered. I noticed that IW doesn't trigger Vengeful Weapon, Weapon of Remedy, or Reversal of Damage.

I blew it off as a technicality regarding damage types, but then I realized that IW's description says "Target foe takes ...42 damage," and these skills' descriptions say "whenever" or "next time" "target ally takes damage..." Note that IW triggers Reversal of Fortune as well, but none of these skills, though the descriptions are the same as far as triggers go.

Is this a bug that needs to be fixed? Thanks for the input. =)

Not sure really. Reversal of Fortune prevents any damage dealt to you, but the Weapons and Reversal of Damage only trigger when you take damage from a foe. Now IW says "you deal no damage in melee", so this could mean that the damage isn't coming directly from the foe.

Edit: And I might suggest using correct forums in the future. Questions and Answers is the best place for this.

I've noticed this too, But I'm pretty darned sure it triggered before the update.

Perhaps it being triggered was a bug? and they "fixed" it.

I am pretty sure that it isn't triggering because of the "from a foe" part. As Taala said, IW damage is indirect damage. Since that foe is not technically doing any damage to you from his own weapon, perhaps that is why IW users do not trigger weapon spells. All those skills that you list also describe the "from a foe" condition...

Do not quote me on that, but i am pretty sure that is why they don't trigger!
Cheers!
