25 energy / 5 second casting / 45 second recharge

Summon 1...4 phantoms. Phantoms cannot be harmed and all they damage is reduced to 0. Phantoms vanish after 30 seconds (vanish is not death, so they dont fuel soul reaping). If you control any phantoms, this skill is disabled.



The idea is that illusion mesmers could mitigate a little damage in pve (since mobs will attack the phantoms), while also having some kind of pets (which is a feature very appealing to new customers). This kind of ability for illusionists already exist in city of heroes, but who said Anet can't borrow the good ideas and make them better

I think you have an interesting idea going there. Seems to me like a little bit necro and a little bit ritualist. You might have to cut down on the phantom lasting time or the amt of phantoms created or tie it to Fast Casting to prevent it from being abused by solo farmers, but pretty creative. Don't forget about arcane echo. That'd be a s***load of phantoms


How about this idea? Kinda of in the same vein as your idea but a little different.

Skill: Summon Wraith [elite]
Energy: 15E
Cast Time: 3 seconds
Recharge: 45 seconds
Attribute: Domination
Description:
A level 5-17 wraith (like the mesmer wraiths in Kryta) is summoned and mirrors your domination attribute level.

Yes, I realize this probably belongs in death magic but it would be cool to see mesmers get a little love. I guess the skills would stay the same (chaos storm, signet of weariness, & epidemic). Maybe make it non-elite and increase energy cost. idk. What do you guys think?
